Ppl were wanting to give him a multi year deal at 8m+ this year just lol. I said 7m so not much better  but sheesh this guy was AWFUL for us. Big year upcoming, the physical tools are def there. Needs to put it all together on the ice. His PO performance was abysmal, complete ghost out there, notably when the team needed him most when Scheif went out.

Would hope for a 60 point season, at least.

Did we ever find out he was playing with an injury? That was supposed to justify the lack of point production at the end of the year and playoffs.

Im a bit of an optimist. Im going to say over 70.

a) he'll see more PP time.
b) more motivated due to expiring contract.
c) he was on pace for two consecutive 60+ seasons at age 19 & 20 (70gp in 2019).
d) he'll be more familiar with players, coaching systems..
e) he'll have better wingers than 2018 and 2019

I could keep going, but im sure everyone gets it.

Bookmark it. I say he hovers between 65 and 75 if he's healthy.

2nd line 2nd PP unit are not sniffing 70 points. Nik Ehlers is elite and last season was the 1st time he paced for over 70. If PLD stays 2nd and 2nd then anything north of 50 is pretty solid. I will be more focused on his PP60 ES and PP60 @ 5v4 metrics. When he got to 60 in Columbus I believe he was playing on the top line with Panarin.

I guess we will see who PLD’s line mates will be this season. I love Ehlers and he’s elite but Panarin had a pretty good run in Columbus too.

I don't care as much about points but it would be nice to see his FO percentage improve but I think we end up seeing Statsny as our unofficial second line C

I hope I'm 100 percent wrong. My gut tells me PLD will only have a slightly better season that what he showed last year. No rational reason to think this, just a hunch.

Hot take for the season: Perfetti will out shine PLD in 2021/2022

I'm glad we traded Pierre Luc Dubois #13 for his twin brother P.L. Dubois #80. We had the wrong guy all along.

Wonder if anyone got a Dubois 13 jersey
I was planning on getting a PLD jersey once he re-upped, but his play will have to improve for me to do that now.

Hoping we can lock in Pionk as he’s now the most likely candidate for my next jersey.

One of my little guys has it -- although he continues to insist it's #31.

Not gonna lie -- it was cheap, and in his size. Brother has an old-skool Lainer 29er.

Every now and then we trade 'em and watch them mirror-image disappoint on the other street hockey team.

Expecting better from PLD, and expect he'll provide it. Ideally he does it as 2C with Wheels and Cole P as his wingers, but we'll see what we shall see, I guess.

I thought #80 was a number reserved for training camp invites with no chance of making the team lol

80 was the number of the first ever Jets 2.0 goal scorer Nik Antropov. PLD has some big shoes to fill.

On a more serious note it's a nice gesture towards a former teammate/friend

It is rather interesting that in Teemu Selanne's best season of his career he wore number 13 (Randy Carlyle at that time wore number 8, Selanne's preferred number - he also wore 13 when re-signed with Anaheim for his second stint and Ozolinsh wore number 8).

Of course the true reason for the record breaking season was the perfect offensive storm as the Jets offense was quarterbacked by Phil Housley and a strong core of forwards including Zhamnov, Steen, Tkachuk and Tie Domi :sarcasm:. Selanne dropped off the second season as he suffered a serious injury (still wore 13, he switched to 8 in his third Jets season) and Housley had also been traded away for Nelson Emerson and Stephane Quintal severely compromising the transition game.

So 29 years later our next best rookie goal scoring star who is also Finnish gets traded for Pierre-Luc Dubois who chooses to wear number 13 and has his worst season so far in his career. Perhaps switching his number to 80 will have the reverse effect than Selanne (only 10 times better). This current version of the Jets drastically improve the defensive transition game by adding Dillon and Schmidt. In 1993 we swapped Housley for Quintal (similar to Forbort) and sacrificed a ton in the transition game.

Looking forward to 2021-22 season. Hope Pierre-Luc Dubois flourishes. I think the Jets forwards will all significantly improve their scoring statistics with the addition of Schmidt and Dillon.
