Are we doing the playoff guess game like last year?
Any rate here are my guesses.
ECQF (2) Boston Bruins vs (3) Toronto Maple Leafs
Leafs are fast young and hungry. Leafs in 6.
ECQF (2) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (3) Philadelphia Flyers.
I hope for the fliers in 6.
ECQF Tampa Bay Lightning vs. (WC2) New Jersey Devils.
Yeah I hate the devils so go Tampa
ECQF: (1) Washington Capitals vs. (WC1) Columbus Blue Jackets
Can Columbus win their first playoff series. Its not the second round yet so Washington will be hard to beat.
WCQF: (1) Vegas Golden Knights vs (WC1) Los Angeles Kings
The kings have a habit of making long runs in the playoffs as a low seed. Kings in 6.
(2) Anaheim Ducks vs (3) San Jose Sharks
Going to be a rough series Ducks in 7
WCQF: (1) Nashville Predators vs. (WC2) Colorado Avalanche
Nashville is just better Predators in 4.
WCQF: (2) Winnipeg Jets vs. (3) Minnesota Wild
Minnesota in 6 just a guess.

BOS - TOR - Figure the slightly worse of two awful options will win.
TBL - NJD - TB just screams "disappointment' to me, for some reason.
PIT-PHI - Ugh.
WSH-CBJ - It's not the second round, yet.
VGK-LAK - Just because I don't think anyone else will pick them.
ANA-SJS - Whatever. I will never not hate Corey Perry.
NSH-COL - #$(*& the Avs.
WPG-MIN - Hopefully this is the year "But Winnipeg" stops being an argument against rebuilding.

East: No round one upsets for me int he East, rather boring picks.
Tampa over NJ in 6 - I am not expecting a long run from Tampa this year, what they showed down the stretch gave me serious concerns about whether that team is built to win int he playoffs. But they will get by NJ, but I think it will be tight.
Boston over Toronto in 6 - Boston's just too deep and I still see weaknesses in Toronto's back end.
Washington over Columbus in 7 - I really like that Blue Jacket team but I was really wrong when I called them upsetting Pittsburgh last year in round one. Washington's just too loaded though Holtby's issues are cause for concern. This should be a fun one to watch.
Pittsburgh over Philly in 6 - Should be a blast, hopefully it is a tough, draining, physical series that weakens Pitt and is great to watch. Philly barely squeaked into the POs and I'm not sold on their goaltending. Would love to see Mrazek step into the crease and lead them deep, of course.

West: Just the one upset
Nashville over Colorado in 5: I guess maybe Mackinnon can catch fire, but he was silent down the stretch and now with goaltending issues for Colorado, I don't see this being much of a series. Nash is just too good.
Winnipeg over Minnesota in 5: I just love looking over the Jets forwards, so deep, so talented - a true four line team who should be seen as a serious contender. Minnesota loses their number one D at the worst time.
LA over Vegas in 6: Great regular season for the GKs, but I see two teams with great team defense and team effort levels, but only one of those teams has a Kopitar, a Doughty and a Quick. Awful first round match-up for Vegas.
Anaheim over San Jose in 5: Maybe I just haven't watched San Jose enough this year, they have some quality young pieces coming up but their big pieces do not seem to have aged as well as Anaheim's. Getzlaf is still a game-breaker and I give Gibson a big plus in net over Jones - provided the dude can stay healthy.

My Stanley Cup winner is Winnipeg, I'm on that Jets bandwagon. Could be a crazy round 2 series between them and Nashville.

I think the most exciting series are
Pitts vs philly
Vegas vs Kings
Sharks vs Ducks

There might be some other touch series, but this 3 are going to be a blast.

Not asking this as a jerk, but you're aware that Ryan Suter is out for the year right?

Beating Winnipeg and Nashville without Suter is just really hard to imagine for me.

I think Minny sneaks a game, but that is a huge loss for them. Spurgeon is also coming off an injury that they are still struggling to medically clear.

It is a fair point, I am aware of this.
Not the same story, but Pittsburg won last year without Letang and a rejuvenated Staal is quite the threat, similar to Phil Kessel last year

If they went on that run, I would almost have to think that Dubnyk would be the biggest reason.

Hey we all have opinions, for me this a bold choice, but kudos I don't see a lot of people with the same faith. A lot of backslapping and liking of this post in the future if this remotely pans out.

I filled out my bracket last year on nhl. com and went with safe picks, bad choice then so I am trying the opposite now
