Paul Statsny scored 78 in his rookie season. Had one better season at 79 points. He effectively peaked in his rookie year. His best 3 seasons statistically were in his first 4 years in the league.

Paul Kariya had 107 points in his first full season. His rookie year was 49 games. His next best season was 101 points.

Not exactly what OP was asking for, but in the spirit of the thread.

Jordan Staal scores 29 goals in his rookie year, 7 of them short handed.

While he’s topped his point totals since his rookie year, the closest he’s come to that rookie goal total is 25.

Absolutely amazed that nobody has mentioned Auston Matthews yet.

Proud of you fellow HF'ers

I mean even if some don’t consider him a franchise player, I don’t think you’ll find too many who would suggest with a straight face that 69 pts would be his peak.

New to HF?
Yes.

I mean with a straight face.

There is a segment of fans here from every fanbase who say things to take a shot at an opposing player or team while not realizing that they’ve made themselves look like morons to the other 29 fanbases. I don’t count those amongst straight faced answers.
