Uhm, I don't think we have to absolutely murder Heatley to prop up moody Näslund. Heatley was far superior to Cheechoo.

Goals for their top 7 seasons (Cheechoo only lasted so long)

Cheechoo: 56, 37, 28, 23, 12, 9, 5

Heatley: 50, 50, 41, 41, 39, 39, 26(x2)

Points:

Cheechoo: 93, 69, 47, 37, 29, 16, 14

Heatley: 105, 103, 89, 87, 82, 72, 67
I'm not trying to prop up Naslund as I don't particularly like him.

I do admit, though, that I can't stand Heatley.

And I can't stand either. :D

Näslund always terrible for the NT and seemed so moody. Just as well as he could be playing a game of hockey, he could be trying to cry himself to sleep. God, I hated his countenance.

Heatley had the evil jock look, whereas Modano had the cheery and cocky jock look. Don't like either.

I have to agree. I never liked Trevor Linden or Markus Naslund's demeanor (if such things are important). How about cracking a smile once in a while? It's just a game.

Young Linden was a very happy/smiley type. He seemed to draw inward in his late 20s after the Messier thing and the criticism he took for his role with the NHLPA. But I remember lots of goofy features with him in intermission features on local TV in the early 1990s.

Naslund ... yeah. Couldn't stand him as Canuck captain. Had the body language of someone whose dog just died and who had no interest in playing hockey.

Would you smile if Dan Cloutier was your goalie and if you had to deal with criticism from Canucks fans?
