Its crazy how fast time seems to pass

I was looking at some ages and I was totally blown away when I realized that Ovechkin was already 29. It feels like he was a rookie just yesterday

Ovechkin 29
Mike Green 29
Crosby 27
Malkin 28
Fleury 30

So which players are older then you thought?

It's funny, I can remember the day he was born, only because we share the same b-day and I remember 9-17-1985 vividly lol.

The only guy playing from my "childhood" is Jagr.

Also, I think it's funny when guys my age are considered "old" - like Patrick Sharp for example..... "no we don't want him because hes too old."

Kronwall will be 34 in a few weeks. Drafted in 2000. Didn't play a full NHL season until 06-07. In Lidstrom's shadow until the start of the 12-13 season.

With how long the Red Wings take to develop players, a lot of their ages surprise me. Case in point, Tatar and Nyquist are 24 and 25 respectively, and I feel like I only learned about them just last season.

You probably did only learn about them last season since that's when both of them broke out. Prior to 13-14 Tatar had 27 games and 8 points to his name, and Nyquist had 40 games and 13 points.

Unless you followed Wings prospects, there's no real reason for others to be familiar with the two of them.

In regards to the Leafs, Bozak being 28 always feels odd to me. Sometimes forget he started so late.

I had no idea Gustav Nyquist is already 25. I thought that he'd be around 21-22 and was pretty surprised when I found out that he is already 25.

Matt Cullen. Mainly because his name sounds like he's always going to be that kid in your junior high class that warrants his full name being said at all times. "Hey, remember Matt Cullen from grade 10 Algebra?"

Also, whenever he plays the Oilers, he's a world beater and is always good for a goal. Doesn't play like he's 38.

im surprised hes only 38. he's been around since the mid 90s.

Alex Semin is turning 31 this year

Lupul is 31 and Bozak being 28 is hard to believe.

Cory Schneider is almost 29 now, almost a vet which is a strange feeling here. Fleury is in this league like forever, but when you look at him, he doesn´t look like he´s 30.

chris kunitz being 35 really makes me feel old

seems just like yesterday he was first making a name for himself on the 05-06 ducks and wearing #38

yupppp a lot of these surprise me
