What i mean is best to explain with this example.

Season 2016/2017 in Washington Capitals:
T.J Oshie - 33 goals in 68 games
Ovie - 33 goals in 82 games

Oveckin was and still is the best scorer of Washington Capitals in every season, except this one.

Who else was suddenly second in the rankings for a brief time?

There's Mogilny in Toronto, but he was a new acquisition that year.

Paul Coffey in '95 is a bit of an anomaly. I think that was the only year he lead his team in points.

I mean, it's common for a "lesser" player to occasionally have a random bogger season than established stars, but that doesn't mean the stars were "overshadowed". It's not like Oshie made anyone forget Ovechkin.
