It is worth to notice that the players can save max. 50% / 100 k€ to a retirement fund. No tax is paid for that part in that year, and therefore it is not shown in these numbers. AFAIK there is no public data on whether a player has done that or not. Considering the progressive income tax in Finland, it is certainly wise in most cases to do this if possible.

Another thing is that these numbers are annual and not by hockey season, so for example these 2011 number include some salary from both 10-11 and 11-12 seasons. So, in case a player transfer to or from Frinland that year, the salary is only for the Fall/Spring months.

Those are still estimates. The actual salary won't be known until their tax info is out.

The taxes are 50%, so best players get around 150k if their salary is 300k.

Unless they base an company of their own and work with it.. Then they van only pay VAT (24%). They could also buy their tv's and cars for the firm and get it basically taxfree because they would have to pay less VAT from incomes then. I wonder if many players do that and play with "Tmi" / "Yy".

If the salary is 300k, the player can move 50% of the funds, but only up to 100k . In this case 50% would be 150k, but it's larger than 100k, so only 100k can be moved to the retirement fund.
