Can't wait till Brouwer is shipped off for Gorges or someone else to a gullible GM somewhere. You want cancer, there's your ****ing stage 4. The sooner this playoff ghosting tool is off the team the better chance we have of actually advancing past the 2nd round.

Langway, I'm going to use an "overall" rating for yours (in addition to PP/ES/PK). How do you want PP, ES, and PK weighted?
I suppose 40% ES, 30% PP, 30% PK

Game 2, 10/3/13 V CGY:
Jones ESG: Holtby -0.7, Hillen -0.25, Chimera -0.05
Stempniak ESG: Green -0.4, Alzner -0.4, Holtby -0.2
Hudler PPG: Carrick -0.35, Chimera -0.25, Carlson -0.2, Holtby -0.2
Carrick ESG: Carrick +0.65, Johansson +0.35
Bouma ESG: Neuvirth -0.65, Green -0.2, Fehr -0.1, Erskine -0.05
Ovechkin ESG: Ovechkin +0.8, Johansson +0.1, Backstrom +0.1
Ovechkin PPG: Ovechkin +0.7, Green +0.15, Johansson +0.15
Backstrom PPG: Backstrom +0.75, Grabovski +0.25

ES totals:
Ovechkin +0.8
Carrick +0.65
Johansson +0.45
Backstrom +0.1
Chimera -0.05
Erskine -0.05
Fehr -0.1
Holtby -0.2
Hillen -0.25
Alzner -0.4
Green -0.6
Neuvirth -0.65
Holtby -0.7

PP totals:
Backstrom +0.7
Ovechkin +0.7
Grabovski +0.3
Green +0.15
Johansson +0.15

PK totals:
Holtby -0.2
Carlson -0.2
Chimera -0.25
Carrick -0.35

As far as standardization goes, 1.5x should do.

Especially when you are the backup goaltender for the night and never even got on the ice...
That probably wasn't very clear.

I hate when I'm 1/20th at fault for something. Ol' Chimera and Erskine must be feeling pretty shamed right about now.

Yes, that's the point. Thank you for your invaluable contributions, Mr. Self-Appointed Review Board.

I vote Erskine at fault for all goals the Caps give up ever whether he is on the ice or not.

Don't blame Stewie. He just likes to make sure no one has their feelings unnecessarily hurt, and some of your ratings were a little mean spirited.

So far, after 3 games, only 5 Capitals are "net +" by your grades and the weighted overall rating: Backstrom, Ovechkin, Grabovski, Ward, Johansson.

The same 5 are also the only Capitals with + even strength grades this season.

The only Capital with a "net +" in every game is Ovechkin.

Green is a "net -" despite being a "net +" in 2 of the 3 games (thanks to two bad even strength performances).

Malyk's ratings more or less agree with yours, but include Mike Green in the + category.

My makeshift NBTW ratings (based on his 3 up, 3 down) are slightly more generous to the other PP1 guys based on +s to "the powerplay".

All 3 of those who have rated agree that Erskine has been one of the two worst Caps. 2 of 3 have Holtby as the other, while the 3rd has Fehr as the other.

Uh, that should have been +0.2 for Green there.

Kind of interesting that six players have yet to be included in a scoring sequence: Erat, Wilson, Latta, Laich & Brouwer & Carlson. Green needs to help get more started at ES. Carlson, too, although carrying Erskine is task enough.

Speaking of metrics/GF/GA tracking...how the heck is this possible???

Erskine, by advanced stats, is having a strong start.

Last year he was, by advanced stats, "lucky" at best.

To my eyes its been the opposite. He was outstanding last year and putrid this year.

Also...as a team...how are our possession number stacking up so far if anyone knows?

Advanced stats usually use shots attempted metrics... maybe this year over the small sample they just shoot once and it goes in and then he goes off the ice? :sarcasm:
