I agree with all those thoughts and highlighted PLEKS because so many people have him in trade possibilities and im thinking--NO FREAKING WAY!!

I also highlighted Tinordi because his style of D takes longer to 'perfect' then a puck moving dman.

I LIKE THIS EDITION OF MY TEAM NOT LOVE YET--MOEN NEEDS TO BE CONSISTENT--DD NEEDS TO %^$# OR GET OFF THE POT SO TO SPEAK--STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND NOT USING SUBBAN ON THE PK --W+T+F

Is Price and Subban are getting 8 and 9s who the hell deserves a 10?

Crosby is a 10, last year Subban was 9.5... but I find it hard to believe that people can rate Subban so high this year. Yes, his offensive production can be rated in the range 9,5 or 10... but what about the rest of his game? Am I the only one who find him less dominant than last year? Am I the only who saw just one Norris contendant in the Nashville-Montreal game and it was Weber and not Subban?

Are we comparing their rating based on what they are capable of or some extreme standard?

Besides, Subban was excellent in other games. VS Columbus he looked better than he did last year. It comes and goes. He can't dominate every game. Correct me if I'm wrong but 10/10 Crosby who has 2 PPG was shut out vs Colorado. It happens.

Also, I'm happy with Moen. As 1.8M per, he's a good 4th liner since he started to drop them again and he can play effectively on the PK. Yes he could do better but I think he's doing the right things during the games.

How I've seen 'em so far compared to expectations:

Forwards:

MICHAEL BOURNIVAL 9/10 - awesome surprise, he's our new McDonald's cuz I'm lovin' it...
LARS ELLER 9/10 - yes, he's slowed a bit lately, but he's been a beast so far; he's not our future #2C, he is our #2C!
BRENDAN GALLAGHER 9/10 - if every player on this team had his heart & will, we'd be in the midst of a new Habs dynasty...
TOMAS PLEKANEC 7/10 - Ol' Reliable had a rough start, but he's found the way again...still our most complete player...
ALEX GALCHENYUK 7/10 - like Larry, he's slowed down a bit lately while seeing tougher competition...a bit more seasoning and the League'll be on notice!
BRANDON PRUST 8/10 - see Gallagher...should wear a letter on his sweater soon...
TRAVIS MOEN 7/10 - looks like last year's Moen was a fluke...excellent 4th liner when he comes to play...
MAX PACIORETTY 7/10 - suffers greatly due to not having linemates...get the man a centre and being a PPG player isn't out of the question...
RYAN WHITE 6/10 - no moronic penalties/plays yet...keep your fingers crossed...
RENE BOURQUE 6.333/10 - when he does show up, he can dominate...he really needs to show up more often...
BRIAN GIONTA 6.5/10 - as much crap as we give him, he brings his lunch pail every day and leaves it out there nightly...if only he wasn't such a momentum-killer...
DANIEL BRIERE 3/10 - at least it's only for 2 years...only positive I got here...
DAVID DESHARNAIS  /10 - there is no number that could truly represent my piercing sadness...he makes me miss Gomez...:amazed:

Defensemen:

P.K. SUBBAN 9.5/10 - barring a couple of minute gripes, Subbie's been Norris-calibre again...pay the man, Bergevin, NOW!!
ANDREI MARKOV 9/10 - warms the heart to see Markie bounce back the way he has, even since opening week...he wants an extention and he's playing for it...
FRANCIS BOUILLON 3/10 - the Danny Briere of the D corps...as much as he needs to sit, we all know MT won't do it...more's the pity...
RAPHAEL DIAZ 5/10 - I defended Diaz to begin the season; not anymore...he should be relegated to 3rd pairing until he's traded/season over...
JOSH GORGES 6/10 - I hate to be rough on him, but he's gotta pull his head outta his arse soon...he's better than he's shown lately...
JARED TINORDI 6/10 - kid may still be a work in progress, but he's coming...he needs confidence (and a better partner than Cube)...
NATHAN BEAULIEU 6/10 - see above post...

Goalies:

CAREY PRICE 9.5/10 - Carey's been a stud and wants that Team Canada starting job...he's got it so far, imo...
PETER BUDAJ 9/10 - when you have a backup you trust, it makes it all the easier...Habs are lucky here and he's a good teammate to boot, supposedly...

I'd say Beaulieu has done very well for a 20 year old rookie d-man, there have been some gaffes in his own end. Most notably the one which resulted in a 2 on 1 yesterday but it was to be expected. You can see that sometimes he's out of position in his own end but he hasn't looked bad defensively. Even sometimes you can see him making up for some mistakes that Bouillon has done, like yesterday when Bouillon deflected a puck in our own zone and Beaulieu used his speed to cut off Cogliano and regain posession. I think this guy will be a solid #2 for us, if he keeps developping at this pace we're going to have one very good d-man in our hands. His first pass to break out of the zone is simply amazing.

I think Beaulieu has some serious upside! He is not yet 21 and he is already playing D in the NHL. He needs a good chunk of this season in Hamilton though. No hurry.

IMO DD has improved a lot since last year, he just can't bury sh**

Yeah he's been fantastic at hitting, fighting and intimidation, as well as shut down D and fantastic PK work. No need for points. :shakehead

On a more serious note, I said in summer 2012 that DD would have to start scoring goals. He had to change his game and become a 20-25 goal scorer to stay on the team.

OH DD just misses!
OH the puck just bounced over his stick!
DD fires wide!
DD fans on the shot!

He did not do the work required to become a center that scores an acceptable amount of goals. Period. That is all.

I am shocked that that Habs did not instruct him to change his game, and also then signed him.

The only players I would give a failing grade thus far are desharnais, and briere. I will cut tinordi some slack since he's not a veteran, but he has been disappointing in the regular season.

The rest of the players are pretty much playing at or close to their abilities. I won't fail players based on them playing a role that they are not suited for. That's a whole other issue.
