Liverpool playing a team that beat them 2-0 last year when they only had 19% possession or some other obscene number. Plus only drew them earlier this season. Not looking forward to it.

Tarkowski is back today too. I remember when he played Liverpool when he was on Oldham.

Neither Salah nor Coutinho made the trip today.

Also, is it normal for the same ref to officiate both fixtures? Not a complaint (necessarily) but East was in charge in the reverse fixture.

Can has been terrible and Wijnaldum has been invisible, (except for the “shot” he has sent in the cheap seats). They really need more from Wijnaldum in games like this. Alsonthey should take Can off for Woodburn but they won’t they really don’t need a holding midfielder today and Can could use the rest.

I have to seriously question your ability to follow a game if you think Wijnaldum had been invisible. He's playing as the 6 and has done a very good job so far. He's already made several vital defensive actions and has done well moving the ball.

Newcastle doesn't play any of their recognised strikers from the start and proceed to watch a defender miss from 2-3 yards out.

He is having no positive impact on the game whatsoever.

What a touch from Gundmundson

Solanke and Mane need to work on their touch. Could have already had multiple goal scoring chances if they weren't so heavy.

Could see that coming. Don't know why we try to bunker up.
It’s more horrible game management. Trying to play out of the back for no reason. Dumb necessary passes thru the center of the midfield. And maybe they can learn how defend a throw in.

I also didn’t love how Mignolet played that but I would need to look again. He looked like he was on Fisher Price Roller Skates following that ball.

Gomez was lost on that one

No it wasn't. He is never at fault for anything because he's that damn good. You're not allowed to point out any of his so called mistakes because it was someone else's mistake he was trying to cover up obviously.

Chamberlain to Lovren to Klavan. Swish. Who would have saw that coming?
