Mount has laughably bad final third IQ and creativity. 2 assists from open play in 60 PL games. Another attack ruined by him.

Created more chances than any player in the league sans Grealish, Fernandes, and KdB
From open play, not at all. No IQ at all and horrendous final third decision making. Over 50% are from set pieces. ESR has more open play assists in 10 games than Mount has in his PL career.

What a terrible midfielder.
Great player, just has horrendous final third IQ and decision making on the ball. No open play creativity. That is what I said. I have praised him many times. Stats also doesn’t measure how many attacks he kills, but they do say he has 2 open play assists in 60.

Something Mount is great at though, and showing it again today, is moving into space off the ball and recieving it in good positions.

Mount is making 2.6 key passes per 90, ESR 1.6. Mount has an xG+xA per 90 of 0.37, ESR 0.34.

You are blaming Mount for our forwards not scoring by only focusing on assists, because he's clearly generating a lot of chances.

I am blaming Mount because very little of his xA are from open play. It is mostly from set pieces, it is mostly coming from corners. 2 open play assists in 60 games is completely unnaceptable. From a player that primarilly is an attacking midfielder. Mount had 19 open play chances created in his first 18, I remember, have not looked at it since then. ESR had 10 in his first 5. I can look it up again if you want. But Mount is really only a threat from set pieces, when it comes to creativity. Chelsea themselves created mostly from corners in the start of the season.

Key passes measure open play, and Mount has mostly played as an 8 this season and most of the back half of last season, not an attacking midfielder.
