In all honesty, if Barca were in that position seeing Madrid lose out on the trophy would be hilarious.

Brutal week for Everton. Lucky that we get City in a similar situation.

Well Everton aren't going to try today do whatever. Their best two players are on the bench.

That's what they have to do. Accept City for a likely loss and try and win vs Watford. You can't drop points in both games.

Nah mate. You bring your best team to your best chance to pick up points especially when you can hurt your rivals' title chances

I think the idea that Silva would set up to stick it to Liverpool - and frankly the idea that any decision he has the power to make can change how things go today - is overblown.

Yea, Silva would rather stick it to Liverpool than Evertons next opponent. Have you LFC fans looked at who is next on Everton's schedule? Guarantee he has the next fixture circled three times and underlined

Sane looks off tonight. Several poor touches and times he's just dribbled out of bounds.

This game isn't even allowed to be aired live in parts of Europe because of some weird rules FA thinks is a good idea, pathetic really

Laporte puts city ahead with the last touch of the first half. Made up for a glaring missed header earlier.

That is why I laugh when fans of smaller teams act like VAR will suddenly solve the officiating discrepancy. Fernandinho should be off and you can guarantee that if Gana had had this game, he would have been sent off 20 minutes ago.

    Just like that, second place.

    City get their job done.

A little over a month ago, LFC were 7 pts clear with change to make it 10 vs. Man City.

They are now in 2nd place.

Nitpicking here but Everton-City game was actually part of gameweek 25.

Meh, this is the time of year where weeks blend together. Technically it's City and Everton's matchday 27 game that was bumped up to make room for City to be in the League Cup final.

And two months ago they were in second 2 points behind, then City hit a bit of a rough patch and dropped a couple of points similar to Liverpool just now. City also have one game in hand
