Liverpool has benefitted from some fortuitous bounces this season. They were due to be on the other end of some.
Yeah I mean. Imagine is Mahrez hit the penalty at Anfield. Its balanced out. It is what it is

I mean in a vacuum if you told me LFC would be up 4 on City in January after playing them twice in August I'd have taken that all day.

1.12 centimeters from a draw today. Don't think this is the worst thing in the world, but I'd say the league is 50/50 between these two right now

I agree. I would have taken that.

It's just that it was 7, and now it's 4. It doesn't take much for the "oh boy here goes Liverpool" to set in.

Who called him a fraud?

He is a good manager but the fact remain he has always managed loaded teams.

If he goes to Italy and coach a team like Florentina to multiple titles I would easily acclaim him as one of the greatest coach of all time.

But who's done that?

What coaches have won multiple titles with small clubs?

In the past many.

Nowadays with how much money is throw around by the top clubs not so often.

Still Atletico were able to beat the two giants for one season.

Dortmund while not a small club were able to take away titles from Bayern.

Monaco did beat PSG dominance for one season.

In the EPL: Leicester.

Not impossible but to remain at the top for multiple seasons with a small club without having the team teared apart from all their top players is challenging.

It goes to show how ridiculous the money issue is when we're considering Atletico and Dortmund to be small clubs.

Leicester is a small club, no doubt about that.

Well Real/Barca dwarf Atletico
same with Bayern and Dortmund.

but yes Atletico/Dortmund are top clubs with top players.

In my extremely biased opinion, it’d be near impossible for anyone to surpass SAF in soccers current landscape.

He said Dortmund wasn't a small club, but they are absolutely dwarfed by the actual big clubs. It's not that different from MLB. Unless you are Real, Barca, Bayern, Juve, or one of the big English clubs, then you will be small and have to be creative to win.

Look at 12, 13, and 14 in that list.

No, I get it.

It's just that some of the clubs we consider to be "smallish" by today's standards are actually huge. They just don't compare to the top 5 who are essentially bigger than the game at this point.

That doesn't mean winning at Atletico or Dortmund isn't impressive. Klopp winning with Liverpool would be impressive at this point.

We're in the top 10 and we got absolutely raided by Barcelona.

When did Mourinho win League titles with a small team?
I think someone made that post, but for the life of me, I can't imagine anyone saying that.
He had easily the best/most expensive portugese team, won the league.
He had easily the best/most expensive english team, won the league.
He had easily the best/most expensive spanish team, won the league.
