Um, did you watch the full 90? The first goal was very obviously against the run of play, but Chelsea were easily better in the second half, and the second goal was not out-of-nowhere.

Next month is huge for Liverpool: United, Napoli, Arsenal and City.

It's a shame that the City vs Liverpool fixture is on short rest after a holiday period.

This month is the season for Liverpool, you have to imagine. There's a bunch of tough games.

Today for Arsenal was one of those games where a season or two prior they would have likely somehow lost or taken the draw. Great to see them battle out the 3 points.

That's what they said in October too. No easy games. I'll stand by that the worst thing for Liverpool has been drawing Chelsea in Carabao Cup and Wolves in FA Cup

Pretty much. If they get through the month still undefeated, it would be awfully great. It's one hurdle after the next.

And LFC beat the 6th place team in two of their last 3 matches, to bookend their week.

Just for kicks I’ll throw United in here, although they’re mostly an afterthought this year.

    11th

Although that’s pretty heavily skewed by playing Liverpool next weekend.

The last time an opposing player was sent off against NUFC was 2014. And even then, an NUFC player was carded at the same time.

Then I see the statistic that the only club to have a longer streak without an opponent being dismissed was Wimbledon between 1995 and 2000. Wimbledon were a club whose antics tended to annoy officials, and they often complained about being discriminated against as a result.

EPL referees are so terrible I wouldn't trust them to award the coin toss correctly. But when I note a detail like the above I wonder, how paranoid should I be?

Mind, in injury time of the second half, kicking with 10 men up the slope, Newcastle lost possession pushing forward three times. A team so criminally stupid deserves everything it gets.

A particular shout out to Ayoze Perez, who celebrated scoring his second goal in 16 EPL games this season with a self-regarding goal celebration and was the guilty party for two of those three giveaways. I don't approve of those fans who've barracked Perez, but his response suggests complacency at best and carries unfortunate echoes of the mindset that led to NUFC's relegation in 2015-16.

Really bad decision by the linesman there. Wolcott a solid yard offside and could have ignored the ball and been fine but played it anyway. Huge missed offside call.

Everton is so lucky. Their goal was a mile offside and Mina should be off with a second yellow at the end of the half.

Watford with a pair of quick goals to take a very well deserved lead 65 minutes in.

I should clarify, that's Premier League games alone.

By contrast, Cardiff have apparently benefitted from three red cards against opponents this season alone. I guess the lesson is to try and mimic the kind of delicate football for which Neil Warnock teams are famous.

And 2 minutes later Everton gets a pen, but a brilliant foot save from Fosterto keep Watford up

Piers should stick to picking fights with random celebrities.

Piers should stick to getting punched in the face by Jeremy Clarkson and slinking back into his pathetic little shell.
