do you think he might be able to play with his buddy Lafrenière or even possibly Poulin? Assume they’d be in the mix for a kid like him.

Rimouski will be making a push this year, not sure if Legare would be a priority for them though, as they need to shore up their D more than add depth at forward. Also, Lafreniere's line is 1-2-3 in the league in scoring, so Legare wouldn't likely be lined up with him (PP aside).

Sherbrooke is a possibility. The Phoenix are actually expected to be quite good next year too, so bringing in a guy like Legare who will be there for two seasons could be a big draw. Given how strong they look so far, they will be adding.

Moncton, Cape Breton, Chicoutimi and Charlottetown are all likely to be adding as well for this year. However, since Legare is back next year, it really opens up the door for lots of teams to take a look at him in preparation for a run next season. Given he will be around for two years, if he is traded, he'll return quite a haul.

Are people really surprised our prospects are falling like flies? Come on, they have the defective Penguin chip installed in them too...

He's now over a PPG after a very slow start (26 pts in 25 games). That's encouraging, but I hope he's also focusing on improving defensively.

Prob why his scoring went down a little? More focused on that aspect to prepare for AHL next year?

Alot of us get caught up in point totals with these prospects but alot work on their overall game when after being drafted to prepare for that next level. Before that it's all about putting up points to get drafted in the first place.

So they may not look as good (on paper) thru that process but they are improving. I havent watched Addison so Idk if that's the case with him, but hopefully is.

The hatty last game still shows he has that shot we all thought he had when drafted.

Poulin was hurt last night (not playing today). Extent of injury not known at the moment. Bad timing as WJHC camp invites for Canada will be announced this week for camp beginning on the ninth.

WHL

Calen Addison (D, Lethbridge) GP12 G3 A10 P13 PIM10 +4

Pacing at better a ppg eases a bit of worry about a possible recession here. Going to the JWC camp, and quite possibly to the JWC himself.

QMJHL

Samuel Poulin (W, Sherbrooke) GP9 G6 A3 P9 PIM12 +6
Nathan Legare (W, Baie-Comeau) GP12 G7 A8 P15 PIM17 -2

Only going a point per game is a bit of a disappointment for Sam, finished off with an injury that removed any lingering possibility he might go to the JWC himself. Re His Points Totals - linemate Felix Robert got injured as well and given how its his assists that really bombed, I'm wondering if that contributed.

Meanwhile, Legare has got things going a bit more, which is all cool and shizzle.

SHL

Filip Hallander (W, Lulea) N/A

Linus Olund (C, Brynas) GP7 G0 A2 P2 PIM0 +2

Hallander not expected to be fit before the JWC.

Olund now pacing for about half the totals of his last season in Brynas.

Liiga

Antti Palojarvi (D, Lukko/Hokki)
Mestis - GP8 G0 A0 P0 PIM2 -13
U20 - GP1 G0 A0 P0 PIM2 0

Valtteri Puustinen (W, HPK) GP8 G2 A3 P5 PIM2 +1

Santeri Airola (D, SaiPa/Kettera) Mestis - GP7 G0 A4 P4 PIM6 +5

Puustinen remains in his lower but interesting trajectory.

Airola finally playing some games and also looking interesting.

Good news - Palojarvi is back playing men's hockey. Bad news - there's no other good news.

NCAA

Nikita Pavlychev (C, Penn) GP3 G1 A0 P1 PIM6 0
Judd Caulfield (W, North Dakota) GP8 G0 A3 P3 PIM2 +3
Liam Gorman (F, Princeton) GP9 G0 A2 P2 PIM2 -4
Ryan Jones (D, Nebraska-Omaha) GP6 G0 A1 P1 PIM4 +1
Clayton Phillips (D, Penn) GP8 G2 A3 P5 PIM8 +4
William Reilly (D, RPI) GP8 G3 A3 P6 PIM4 -2

When did Pavlychev get injured as well damnit?

Encouraging months for Phillips and Reilly. Slow elsewhere. Disappointed by Ryan Jones' low PIMs.

YEARLY TOTAL TO DATE

Legare is 1st in Baie-Comeau scoring and 29th in QMJHL scoring.

CL GP4 G2 A1 P3 PIM0 +5

Santeri Airola (D, SaiPa.Kettera)
Liiga - GP2 G0 A0 P0 PIM0 -2
Mestis - GP8 G0 A4 P4 PIM6 +2

Puustinen is HPK's 3rd highest scored (1st for goals) and t-34th for Liiga scoring (t-21st for goals).

Airola is Kettera's 4th highest scoring dmen (2nd by ppg) and t-23 for Mestis scoring among dmen by ppg

Palojarvi has his loan team's 4th worst +/- after only 8 games - impressive! Guess maybe they're just really crap and he's been thrown to the wolves, but woof.

I've decided to call him Marino 2 to set myself up for disappointment.

In all seriousness, I hope he signs with the Pens. It's a promising season
Really liked him in the prospects games.

I hope the Pens are watching some Minnesota born kids for the next draft. Both draft age and undrafted kids from last year are really good. Specifically Blain, Rosemount and the Hornqvist clone on Minnetonka. There's another Brink coming in 3 years. You can draft these kids late.

Pronman says he'd have invited Poulin to Canada's JWC camp and reckons he was left out as not suitable for a grind line role.

interesting bc I thought he was pretty good in that type of role at u-18s.

Still not too surprised he was left off, he wasn’t at the summer camp.

He’s ridiculously cold right now, no points in 6 straight.
