Pfft. If I was a NCAA UFA, seeing that that was all that stood in my way to an NHL berth would make me positively bouncy.

The real problem would be that WBS is rammed.

Plus...if he makes it to the league, Nashville is an unreal city. Can’t blame him.

Yeah, I'm not sure where Wilkins would have even fit in.

Free prospect is always nice though.

Hållander to Luleå in SHL.

Uppgifter: De vinner dragkampen om JVM-forwarden

In Swedish newspaper. Says there were lots of interest from SHL clubs and he choose Luleaå in the end .

I guess he can still come to NHL/AHL since hes signed his ELC. But otherwise he will still play top league in Sweden.

Good stuff, think he'll be better off there next year and then jump over to the AHL.

Jon Bombulie:

TOP 10 PENGUINS PROSPECTS
1. Kasper Bjorkqvist LW 6-1,207 21
2. Calen Addison D 5-10,181 19
3. Sam Lafferty C 6-1, 185 24
4. Nikita Pavlychev C 6-7, 211 22
5. Jordy Bellerive LW 5-11, 194 19
6. Adam Johnson LW 6-0, 175 24
7. Anthony Angello RW 6-5, 210 23
8. Filip Hallander C 6-1, 190 18
9. Justin Almeida C 5-11, 160 20
10. Jake Lucchini C 5-11, 183 23

"The prospect who is closest to NHL ready is probably Providence College winger Kasper Bjorkqvist.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pound left wing from Finland is a physical specimen on par with the fittest members of the NHL roster.

Getting Bjorkqvist under contract should be priority for the Penguins this summer. If he returns to college for his senior year, he could become a free agent Aug. 15, 2020."

Pavs too high, Hallander too low but I think that’s a good list. Maybe reflects some organizational input?

I have to imagine there's a lot of weight put on a prospect's readiness, because I can't fathom anyone arguing that Björkqvist has the highest ceiling of that group. I can buy him being a contributor within a year of signing, though.

Pavlychev being higher than Hållander only makes sense if you're factoring in that Hållander is a likely spending next season in Sweden.

I think it was entirely organizational. Mix of NHL ready vs. impact I guess

Makes sense. Although surprised to see Addison that high, despite talent seems like he’s nowhere near being a NHLer.

Hållander to Luleå in SHL.

I guess he can still come to NHL/AHL since hes signed his ELC. But otherwise he will still play top league in Sweden.

@rickardr do you like Luleå for Hållander? Is he expected to be their top forward?

Just out of curiosity where will Hallander’s teammate Olofsson play?

And now it is official. Hållander signed a one year contract (in Swedish): Hållander klar för Luleå

Their GM compares Hållander to former Swedish power forward Mikael Renberg.

For what's worth - Kasper Bjorkqvist underwent shoulder surgery after the NCAA's were over. Still unsigned....could be Pens are waiting to see how is recovery goes - or, as some chatter has gone, he will return to play his senior season, and then not sign and become a free agent in August of 2020....

Or he could sign is the next few weeks. I guess we'll see.

Thanks. Pens can't afford to lose him.
