Probably what happened, though, is he tried to get something from Murray that would fit his article and Murray wouldn't bite.

I did ask Rossi why there weren't any Murray quotes in his article, and, even though he found time to respond to everyone else's post, mine must have slipped under his radar.

Yeah, cracking the 100k mark annually took me about 7.5yrs and a 2 career changes and 2 jobs.

LOL, are you serious? Sports commentators don't traffic in meaningful information by definition. It's SPORTS, entertainment.

The metric here is the ability to draw and maintain an audience. Pretty competitive as there is no shortage of folks who would like that job.

It's not envy, it's annoyance. Get information that's relevant, relay it, don't lie, know your subject matter. It shouldn't be hard to do these four things, but certain sports "journalists" find it impossible for some reason. It's no different from being irritated at a flag man who has no idea how to direct traffic through an area of street construction or an attorney who doesn't know the law.
