I'm tempted to say that philly.com's website must be coded by 10 year olds except that I'm pretty sure that in this day and age even 10 year olds know how to make radio buttons work so that you can only choose one of a set.

I went with mostly more recent guys. If this was rank the best players it would be different, but for favorite, I had to go with guys like Boucher, Johnsson, and Renberg.

My top 3 in each category...

C: MacLeish, Clarke, Briere (would have picked Forsberg if he was listed)
W: Gagne... I forget who the next two were, might have been Leach and LeClair. Too many to choose from
D: Kimmo, Rico, Howe
G: Pelle, Bernie, Mason

Edit: Also didn't pick the best, just my favorites

You can't un-select anything either, so if you have second thoughts you have to start over.

It says 'BEST'... or 'YOUR BEST"... it does not mention 'YOUR FAVORITE'... although I suppose "YOUR BEST' could be taken as 'favorite'.

With that, I took it to be the Best... and voted as such... Being around for all the careers of all the Players, I was able to personally rate them -- FWIW -- But with those who have not lived through the old Players, I suppose people like Dornhoefer may lose some support... Except for Clarke, Barber, Parent, etc., I imagine the older Players had an uphill battle... That said, Simmonds, Giroux, Voracek, etc. have the disadvantage of not having their entire career in the mix...

... Such is life... it is what it is.

That was my error in the original thread title. I put "favorite" since it is difficult to gauge players from different generations especially for those who didn't experience prior decades first-hand.

I'll stick to reading your posted lineups over giving that website more traffic.

If Knuble doesn't win top winger, the poll is rigged.

I actually gave him the Tenth Winger spot because he is one of my favorite all-time Flyer Player... It was tough to leave off one some of the ones I had to -- the Flyers really had a lot of quality Wingers over the Fifty Years -- Had it been my Favorites, I'd have had easier decisions and even placed him higher.

Seriously... I cheated to give Knoob a nod among the Barbers, Leaches, Propps, Kerrs, Leclairs, Dornhoefers Simminds, Voraceks, Gagnes, Recchis, of the World... I hate to admit that I had to leave off one of those Wingers... but wild horses will not drag which one on them it was. :shakehead

* I would consider calling for a Poll recount... but I'd fear him losing votes and falling further behind... like Hillary. ;)

I like your list quite a bit. I wonder how much higher Pronger would have ranked on all of these if we'd seen more years out of him?

... And would these years been from the younger Pronger, before he came to the Flyers... or years tacked on a more mature Pronger who never received that most recent Concussion? :sarcasm:

In all seriousness... I'm with you on this... I had him further down on my personal List feeling that while he had fine Seasons here and was a leader... and may have been one of the top reasons for the long 2010 SCF Run -- his hiding of all those opposing GW Pucks ;) -- he really didn't play here long enough to be considered as high as he coulod have been... he didn't as many Games as some other real fine D-men with the Flyers. That said, I also have to wonder how a non-PCS Pronger would have played going forward... granted, improving the Flyers all the Seasons he was able to lace them up,

In the end, though... he would have had to have been exceptional here to surpass the likes of Howe, Rico and Kimmo... I'd imagine he'd have jumped up past Jimmy Watson on my List... with is certainly nothing to sneeze at; Jimmy is one of my all time Flyers heroes. JMO

Pronger was my favourite player as a Flyer but did not play too long here so that is why I have himlow on my list..i miss him and loved his banter with the media

I just realized Keith Primeau was not on the list. He's probably my favorite center besides Danny Briere and also just one of my favorite overall Flyers of all time. Dude was a captain here for like five or six seasons! How did he get left off the list?

Carchidi was asked that on his Twitter account a few days ago and his response was that Primeau was "a bubble guy, along with countless others!"

We should honestly start a legit petition to get that clown fired. Make enough noise and let the people who pay him for his drivel know what the fans think of him, and maybe we can oust him. It is truly egregious that he gets paid to report on this team and I want his career to go up in flames.
