"While I'm not prepared to confirm or deny (the report), it certainly would be irresponsible (if not incompetent) on our part if we weren't doing all the things we need to do to ensure we have alternatives at the appropriate time. One alternative may be Winnipeg," the source told Sportsnet via e-mail.
Desert Stalemate: Sources close to businessman Matt Hulsizer say he has done nothing to alter his proposal to buy the Phoenix Coyotes, nor has he changed his intention to sit patiently while the NHL, the City of Glendale and the city's bankers continue to try and solidify bond buyers.
If Hulsizer isn't willing to sweeten the pot and there is no tangible interest among bond buyers, then the deal - while not completely dead - is on life support with Gary Bettman deciding when to pull the plug.
As of this morning, there are no meetings or conference calls between the NHL, Hulsizer and Glendale planned to further the process along one way or another.
Why do I get the feeling that more news will be spilled today... The ball is rolling.
Sportsnet has just gave us more info.

We'll see if more gets leaked.
I always think NYC, Michigan, Ohio, places like that when thinking Simon & Garfunkel. Great artists, great titles, but can ye' nay' be coming up with things that are topical to Arizona & the Southwest?. Never mind that your scaring off the yoots' with Paleolithic PopCulture References. We needs da yoot's to grow la familia here at hf or the site dies.... New markets. C'mon. Get with program Mods & Administrators. Its not 1969 anymore when everything & anything in your life was possible... I just thought Id share that rather depressing thought with ya'll. So...
Carry on,

your children well
their fathers health
did slowly go bye
That's not really a leak. It's just reality for even the most "pro-stay in Phoenix" or "pro-move somewhere else" people.
fitting tribute?.
Well I'm thinking they're just prepping everybody for KUMBAYAH around the campfire........
Imitation is not always the most sincere form of flattery.
Ya. One of those fake birch log jobs with a red bulb simulating fire. Thing is, they ran out of extension cord.
Since the NHL has been able to discuss a deal with TNSE since Jan. 1st and since they basically already agreed to a bona fide offer last year (which, based on Lawless' article, would not have been made if TNSE didn't have BOG approval and relocation approval), I doubt there would be much more to iron out in this transaction now.
IMO, COG paid 25 million to cover the losses for this season, so the NHL did not explore selling the team to relocation interests during the season. However, the Coyotes 2010-2011 season officially ended on Saturday. If the NHL met with TNSE earlier this week, I'm guessing that it wasn't to finalize an offer, but to transfer ownership for next season.
My guess is that Coyotes have already been sold to TNSE.

If the saga concludes with the team moving to Winnipeg, do all the "TNSE's efforts..." threads join the list?
Business board is overpopulated with us geezers. We need to teach the next generation what great music was all about.....Time is awasting.
Make sure you turn up the sound. Or some Sennheiser headsets will do.
The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
