There is no pain you are receding
A distant ships smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I cant hear what your saying

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye

I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone

I....... have become, Comfortably Numb

I prefer the collaboration of Waters, Van, and the Band. Van's old and damaged voice is so perfect, and what can be said about the band? Just perfect. I was born in 1985 and am not much for the psychedelic silliness. I much, much prefer the simple straightforwardness of that new version.

I thought about someone making something like this into a TV series, but by taking license and making it a small Canadian working class city instead of Glendale.

They could make one just on the crazy peoples following this saga on this thread. And don't feel insulted because am including myself!

Thousands of years from now, when historians sift through the decayed ruins of the Internet, they're going to uncover this thread and those linked to it.

They're going to think this was the defining conflict of our time.

But that's because it is!!! At the very least it is a microcosm of major current political issues.

Happy to be considered part of this dysfunctional thread, attempting to analyze dysfunction at its best, the COG Council! Joyce Clark? Say no more, a documentary of her obvious foibles would even draw the "walkers " from their attention on Rick and the gang!

Roseanne Barr? Pshaw. Only the legendary Louise Fletcher should play Joyce Clark...

Or the late Walter Matthau and a blonde wig as Joyce Clark. They'd have to do one of those hologram tricks but I think it could be pulled off.

Another article by Sunnucks to try and justify his pay cheque. He must get paid by the article ( even if it says nothing ).

... just a whole lotta nothin. The only interesting point being that Jamison either talked or met with Gary Bettman yesterday. Now, supposedly today, the NHLPA & NHL are going to start discussing the basic fundamentals & main points of contention over linkage, Revenue Sharing & HRR's, franchise location etc. All I can say is good luck with that. Depending on how these discussion progress throughout today, tomorrow & Thursday, players instructed to hold-off on making arrangements to secure housing accommodations (if theyve already signed elsewhere to play for the season). With everything in flux, no reveal from Jamison pursuant to the identity of his investors, the Attorneys' for both Glendale & I assume the JIG working on a new agreement, a pending election, how does this possibly get done? Particularly so if the seasons a wash, the tax increase goes down to defeat etc etc etc? Doesnt compute.

Only way it gets done is JIG investors don't need the subsidy from the City of Glendale anymore. That is the only way that Jamison is going to purchase the team. That also saves him the trouble of negotiating with more than one party.

Give Glendale their $60k per month rent fee for the Jobbing and cash in all and everypenny coming out of the place.

Necessity can be a powerful motivational tool. They're pretty much out of time on this. Technically, they have until the new council is inaugurated to vote up the deal but that's playing with fire. I would guess that Jamison told Bettman what terms his group needed and either the NHL is going to accept that amount/structure or the deal would already be dead. (Again, I can appreciate those that would speculate that the deal is or has been dead for quite some time, I just happen to disagree.)

The part that doesn't compute for me is how any investor could trust Glendale to perform on the subsidy. Lieberman already introduced the idea of a strategic default on the baseball bonds. IOUs from Glendale are not for the risk averse.

I'm going to throw out a prediction. We will eventually have a thread titled "The NeverEnding Story" and it will be during that thread this mess is finally settled.

The NHL just made a 50/50 spilt(which is fair), lets say that the NHLPA take the offer(which is unlikely, they will find something that they don't like), but lets say they take the offer, what will it do to the Coyotes situation. I am in Quebec City getting a team basket, will this help Quebec City or will it hurt their chances?
