For those of you that have attended events at Philips Arena in Atlanta since the Thrashers departed in 2011, I was wondering if they have maintained anything from the team's history in the building such as banners, pictures, etc.

my neighbor was director of operations for the cleaning and floor crews. After they left it was her job to get rid of everything NHL. They auctioned some of the stuff off, but as far as I know they pretty much purged the NHL from the arena.

On a side note this is all because Liberty Media sucks and if was up to them they would have never purchased the Thrashers in the first place. Because of that the place has been purged.

I've been to the arena once or twice since the Thrashers left. Aside from my being a bit emo and pointing out to the GF all the things I used to do 41 times a year there was no sign that the Thrashers were ever there. :(

(btw, I'm still bitter and depressed about the whole thing)

Sometimes this franchise feels like an encounter group for people that are hurt by hockey franchises leaving their city.

That is really unfortunate.

You guys are unreal...

Atlanta losing the Thrashers was nothing like Winnipeg losing the Jets in 1996. Winnipeg really had nothing else.

Atlanta still has the:

1) NBA
2) NFL
3) MLB
4) A HUGE college sports scene
5) Nice weather year-round
6) Super Bowls
7) WNBA
8) ECHL hockey
9) An NHL team 3 hours away (Nashville)
10) A brand-new ballpark for the Atlanta Braves on the way (http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/1...oners-approve-plan-atlanta-braves-new-stadium)
11) Plans for a new BILLION-DOLLAR NFL stadium for the Falcons. (http://newstadium.atlantafalcons.com/)
12) Etc. etc. - (this list was just literally off the top of my head)

I'm so sick and tired of Winnipegger's feeling sorry for Atlanta sports fans. They're not suffering 1 bit!

And this is supposed to make ex-Thrashers fans happy...how?

We're talking about Atlanta hockey fans, rather than Atlanta fans of sports in general. Fans of the Thrashers probably don't need anyone from Canada to tell them how they feel about things.

Exactly.

A good number of Thrashers fans sticking around here don't even live in Atlanta.

So? If we had all of that here, I would still be depressed about loosing the jets. There where people in Atlanta that where die hard thrasher and hockey fans. There feelings toward the team arnt just let go because they realize they have other things to watch.
