I figured we could start a thread on a month by month basis to talk about the schedule for the upcoming month and how you thing they Flyers might fare.

They play 14 games this month and have already lost the first 2. I could easily see them going 4-10 this month, but have to assume they will go about 6-8. It is a month that they see some strong competition and face a lot of playoff contenders.

They also have a full week of from the 20-27.

If the mods feel like this should be moved, go ahead, but I thought it might be a good idea to have a place where we could talk about what each month has ahead.

When looking at that schedule, a decent team should only be losing 4-5 of those games. These Flyers have already lost 2 against two of the worst teams on the schedule.

True but hopefully they catch a few teams on road trips and steal a couple. Actually, losing for a better pick isn't so bad at this point.

Lots of home games this month...

That was why it was so crucial to ace that road trip then use that momentum to build into a homestand, if there was any dim hope of a playoff run. Now it doesn't matter.

The calendar is fairly moot at this point. The only date that really matters is Monday March 2, Trade Deadline Day.

Got tickets to 4 games this month, NYI, PIT, PHX and WIN!

I know it's day to day, but I'm just praying Giroux is back by then!

Unfortunate win tonight. Everyone else below us pretty lost too which hurts. I guess they had to win that game for Mason tonight. He was great.

Wins feel pretty meaningless right now for this team, but I really can't actively root them to lose. Even with a draft like this one coming up, I don't believe that moving up 1 or 2 spots is worth it.

Yeah that's a team you want to key in on not Edmonton, Buffalo, Carolina, or Arizona as they're lost causes at this point.

Arizona probably would be comparable but they play in the tougher division by a fair margin & should be moving players soon (Vermette is rumored to be close to out the door).

I don't root for them to lose, I just accept it.

Every time I've wanted them to tank, they win. So Go Flyers Go!

Tanking is a polarizing issue. But there's nothing wrong with hoping certain other teams win. I mean, the Oilers gotta win some games, right?

I hope the Oilers win more games

and I also hope the Flyers win more games but have my doubts.

I can see us going on a tear and finishes just outside the playoffs. I can also see us finishing picking in the 5-10 range, in which case, I hope there is a fantastic left wing there or a center we can convert to wing. Someone who is close to NHL ready too. We need the best goal scorer or second best goal scorer in the draft to play with Giroux.

Who seems to fit that description this year who isn't Eichel or McDavid? I'd be happy with Strome too

I'm at the point now where if we score and G or V don't score/assist on it then i'm disappointed.

Mason is killing us :sarcasm:

Glad to see him doing well though. Tonight was one of those games I chalked up as a loss. Caps were 8-1-3 in their last 12 games.

Heard on the radio tonight the Flyers had only 3 wins when scoring less than 3 goals this year. This makes win number 4

The Flyers may not win alot this season but have not really been blown-out in any games as yet despite what Caps fans were predicting!
