Hmm, this is kind of weird, I thought Phil wanted to move from Pittsburgh to a smaller market in a warm place so they traded him to Arizona. He has his cups already. Why does he want out and where would he go? Would it just one last cup run? We all know he despises the limelight.
I'm assuming that once they gutted the team and started yet another rebuild, he didn't feel like sticking around for that. I honestly thought the Yotes looked like they were trending in the right direction last year but I guess they decided getting rid of quality players was a better option for some reason. Garland is one of my favorite young players to watch and exactly the kind of guy a young, rebuilding team should hold onto. I would be pretty pissed that the team moved him unless he basically told them he wanted out as well.
There’s a Nathan’s in Brooklyn. The Islanders used to play in Brooklyn. Phil to the Islanders it is.
edit: There’s numerous locations on Long Island too. Lou will even help him use his salary to open up a new location that will be the official hot dog of the New York Islanders.
He picked Arizona because Tocchet was the coach, but Tocchet isn't coaching there anymore.Hmm, this is kind of weird, I thought Phil wanted to move from Pittsburgh to a smaller market in a warm place so they traded him to Arizona. Kessel's cash owed is only 850k this year, so Arizona will likely be more than willing to retain 50%. This brings his cap-hit down to 3.4aav for this final season on his contract.
He scored at a 29 goals per 82 games pace last season on a putrid Arizona offense.
He's been fully paid and he still wants to be traded? Kind of a dick move.
Obviously it's in Armstrong's best interest to move him anyways though. It's not like they're going to be good.
Chili and cole slaw baby come on down to Raleigh and experience 2 for a dollarTo me it’s about what he likes on his dog. Gardiniere…blackhawks. Maple bacon…Ottawa. Maybe a sauerkraut sort of situation…..Winnipeg. French fries inside…..triumphant return to the penguins. Wet chili…..Columbus. Tofu dog….California. He needs to follow his heart.
It’s Kessel. Lol. Same as always. How was Kessel's play away from the puck last season? I only catch Coyote games, when they face off against the isles.
Yes. Old uniforms full time. The Wayne Gretzky era red crap is finally gone. Are the Yotes going back to the old logo? Noticed on their Twitter they went there
Ok. I had hoped to read the effort was at least there. The isles pp cost them, in the last playoff series against TB.It’s Kessel. Lol. Same as always.
When he’s not nursing an injury in order not to lose the iron-man streak, he’s usually good about getting off the ice pretty quick when he needs to. He doesn’t play hockey like other NHL players. But he’s smart. And he usually knows how to not get caught out in bad situations. But he’s obviously a very bad defensive player with a very lackadaisical overall game.Ok. Nope.I wonder if Arizona can trade Kessel through Toronto to another team to get rid of that 1.2m this year.
Arizona: Retains 4m + whatever package
Toronto: No cap hit
New team: Takes on Kessel at 4m
Several reasons. #1 Arizona cant retain 4m. The most they can retain is 3.4m. #2 There is mechanism for Toronto “clearing” their existing retention. #3 The scenario you proposed doesn’t accomplish that anyway. Why not?
