Comparing a college free agent signing an ELC to a UFA who got a 4 year deal?

There was no downside to signing Vecchione.
There was absolutely no downside , at the time we did not have the second overall pick had no Frost and did not know what we had in Vorobev so the signing was just fine .

MV and Bardreau may not make the team, and their upside may be AHL roster filler, but we won't know until training camp.
And having them available provides insurance, not just for the fourth line, but the 13th/14th forward and in case of injury "break glass" depth on the Phantoms.

It’s not out of the possibility that Bunnaman, Kase, Laberge and Twarynski could all start the season in Reading ECHL.

I’m going to guess that Kase isn’t leaving the SHL to play in Reading, PA.

Kase is someone who will definitely start in AHL and is one of the more interesting wild cards.

He led his shl team in scoring and the belief is that the main thing holding him back is physical strength. Will be interested to see if he is physically mature and how good he really is. His brother who is supposedly less talented than him has been very good for Anaheim.

All of the healthy scratches are forwards and one goalie . We actually have a shortage of D if any injuries occur ,Morin being out mostly all season . Of the six new rookies coming in 1 is goalie and 5 are forwards . Some are not going to be happy with the amount they are going to be sitting . Which ones do you think will be demoted ?

Rubtsov is more likely to play LW or C than RW.
NAK will probably make the big team this year.
Bardreau or MV have a good shot at being the 13th/14th forward.
De Haas will probably be ahead of Drake.
If Lyon has to go through waivers, he'll be claimed.
I doubt Twarnynski will sit for Martel, he's got more upside as a potential NHL player.
Laberge will play, they want to find out if he's still a prospect.

My bet would be in terms of forwards:

1 of Vecchione/Aube-Kubel/Vorobyev makes the Flyers, lets say Vecchione...

1 of the vets will have to sit, they can only dress 5, they have:
Brennan (will always play)
Varone (will always play)
Carey (will play 9/10 times)
Knight (will play 9/10 times)

Conner/McDonald will probably rotate in and out.

leaving (using some of the lines from late last season, bolded will play basically every game available):

Martel - Vorobyev - Aube-Kubel
Carey
- Varone - Conner/McDonald
Rubtsov
- Knight - Kase
Twarynski - Bardreau - Bunnaman/Laberge

Bunnaman/Laberge
Conner/McDonald

Goulbourne (will split between AHL/ECHL)
Fazleev (will split between AHL/ECHL)

I fixed that for you.

Ok say two of them make it then that means two guys from the Flyers are being sent down , then you still have same problem on LV . But then you will be bumping more vets cause you can only dress so many .Times are going to get interesting down there , can you imagine having Laczynski and Allison there as well this year .Ron is going to have his hands full trying to shuffle the deck on Flyers, LV and Reading in the next few years . There is going to have to be some serious changes coming .
So next year Sandstrom is coming over say they sign Allison and Laczynski, Frost , Ratcliffe who else do you think they are signing to bring in ? Kaylnuk ? Bernhart? Sushko ?Hogberg?
Who are they going to let go , trade etc ... to make room for all these prospects that seem to be working out to various degrees ? I am just trying to get discussions going on peoples opinions of the posibilities cause there are a boat load . Also cause every time i go over to the Hagg hate page my brain hurts .

Ron will probable move Leier before the season.
If Morin is healthy by the TDL, he'll probably move MacDonald, Folin or Hagg.
Lehtera and Weise probably won't dress, but may stick around to keep the dead money in this season
Next year Raffl, Simmonds, Lehtera, Folin are gone, unless they resign Raffl (but given the logjam, I doubt it).
MacDonald, Weise are buyout candidates or maybe just waived.

Expiring contracts: Vecchione, Bardreau, MV, Varone, Knight, Fazleyev, Carey, Martel, Goul

Lehigh 2019-20
(assume Frost goes directly to Philly, does not pass go and collect two million)
likely promotions - Vorobyev, NAK & Myers if they doesn't start in Philly, Rubtsov, Lyon/Stolarz (Philly, trade or waiver).

Line 1 LW Ratcliffe C Lycksell RW Allison/Laczynski (one replaces Simmonds)
Line 2 LW Twarynski C ??? RW Sushko
Line 3 LW Strome C ??? RW Kase
Line 4 LW Bunnaman C ??? RW Laberge
3 centers needed, out of MV, Bardreau, Varone, Knight, Martel

1st D-Pair LD Brennan RD Friedman
2nd D-Pair LD Drake RD ???
3rd D-Pair LD De Haas RD Wilcox
Hogberg, Kalynuk, Bernhardt are candidates to be added

Goalie's:
Starter: Sandstrom
Backup: ???

Is Kase definitely coming over?

Yep. Barring something bizarre.

He only has a contract with the Flyers, and Euro seasons are less than a month away, and he could have pretty much picked his spot on half the teams in the SHL if he wanted this season.

Proti bráchovi v NHL? Teď záleží nejvíc na mně, hlásí David Kaše | NHL.CZ

He said last month he is coming to Flyers camp (he should be 100% fit by then, the Flyers doctors gave him shoulder surgery on an injury he has had for a long time... one he got at the WJC in late 2015. He played through pain all season after re-aggravating it.)

He also said basically "given I am coming off surgery I know realistically it would take a small miracle to make the Flyers out of camp, even though that is my aim."

That's the attitude you like, competitive but with the maturity to accept reality.
