I’m expecting Brink to play another year at Denver.

Phantoms do have 25 games remaining (plus playoffs?) so there could be a good opportunity to make up for missed time for some of these guys.

I'd like to see Brink leave. He only played 15 games at Denver this year. Plus, 7 WJC games. Getting another 20+ with the Phantoms would be huge.

While the WJC was a success, the Denver season left so much to be desired. I'd hope Brink would want a chance to finish out strong.

Similar to Laczynski in college, I want Brink to play with better linemates. I think we'll see him on a whole other level. Even in both of his WJC runs, Brink's 5v5 linemates left a lot to be desired.

On merit? Probably not. Zamula is probably better and could be called up whenever. They could give him an incentive to sign though.

I'm guessing York is ahead of Zamula by a good bit inside the organization. York has a certain reliable polish that the old heads crave. The brass is probably plotting to crush the bluster out of Zamula before he's called up.

York has two years of college, Zamula is in his first AHL season, before that the CHL is playing against 16-20 year olds.

2 years of college is usually more than enough for top prospects. York should be pretty close to ready. Seems very polished already. Some AHL time wont hurt either of course but it probably doesn't need to be a lot.

That was a vote of coaches and media. In a vote of peers, he was named top defenseman in the conference and the result was as listed below.

We asked Big Ten hockey players to vote for postseason awards. Here is who they thought were the best ...
The top three
1. Cam York, Soph., Michigan
2. Jackson LaCombe, Soph., Minnesota
3. Dennis Cesana, Jr., Michigan State

York has been a steady presence all over the ice for the Wolverines, with a knack for giving Michigan's talented forwards the pass out of the defensive zone that they need. His 14 points in 18 league games led Big Ten defensemen.

This is why I hope Fletcher tells Scott this is not the year to make big moves, just too weird, too unpredictable.

In a normal season, we have a half dozen players in the AHL who'd have played 40+ games by now and we'd know before the TDL if they're a better option than an overpay for a declining veteran. And they would have inflated their trade value if we wanted to go that route.

This year, you're screwed both ways, you don't know what you got and trade partners devalue what you offer.
To top it off, you have to depend on a young goalie searching for his mojo and the ED looming over the offseason.

You called it, too, about the Jr Devils (probably) infecting the Phantoms like the NHL squad (probably) infected the Flyers, dead.
