A little surprised that Loving didn't get one of the best drama nods over Lion or Hacksaw Ridge, but as long as Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Hell or High Water, and Elle/Isabelle Huppert gets lots of attention, I'm happy.

I guess the favourites this year in their respective supporting acting categories are Mahershala Ali and Michelle Williams. For once, I heartily endorse the front runners.

I wonder why the GGs don't have an award for best documentary.

I feel like La La Land is just one big circle jerk of Hollywood celebrating itself. It was ok, but a movie of extremely little substance.

Really? He made War Dogs. Played his character really well and epitomized everything that was wrong with people like him.

I'm happy Adams is nominated for best actress for Arrival, but I wish the movie had been nominated too. Haven't seen any of the nominated movies yet but I do plan to this holiday season. Now I know what I need to see for all the Oscar stuff.

EDIT:

I did see Hell or High Water and Deadpool (A golden globe nomination for best comedy? Interesting). Still really need to see Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea though.

As entertaining as Stranger Things has been, it's nowhere close to Westworld for me. It's been a while that I enjoyed a series that much & had such a blast in a series final.

Agreeing with the others though. If Hopkins is left out, it should be Wood & Newton winning at least.

I don't care about the Golden Globes much, the Emmys are usually a much better representation of what's good (other than some bias with nominating a few of the same shows every year regardless of how deserving they are). I would love to see at least some of Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell, Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood win awards though, as I feel that Westworld and The Americans are the two best shows on tv right now.
