You could be right but this is how I figured it. Green, on most accounts, is a bit of a risk. High potential and good character: just the type of player NJ loves to draft.

On the other hand, Chipchura is a total safe bet and an excellent 2nd to 3rd line NHL player: just the type of player Dallas loves to draft.

I hope the Sharks take Alexandrov but I was just wondering why you had them picking him?

I think the Islanders will go with a defenseman since we lack a qaulity defensive prospects, although I would welcome Radulov especially if the reports of him being nothing like his brother work ethic wise are true.

Although I am weart of drafting a Russian because of this crap with the IIHF.

just an observation but I doubt that Sutter would take another defenceman over the ultimate, prototype Sutter-player in Chipchura. Darryl would be weeping with joy if Chipchura fell to 19th

I highly doubt the Oilers would draft Lisen ahead of Picard.

Really? You don't think that they would want an extremely fast offensive player over a 3rd line, maybe a 2nd line, defensive forward? I think, being in the Western Conference, Edmonton would opt for the offensive upside of Lisin.

Another problem is that Lisen is from Russia and my small market Oilers can't afford the transfer fee they might have to pay. I don't see the Oilers drafting a Russian unless he's playing in the CHL.

Zajac to the Rangers is not bad, but, I have a feeling that if Lyamin is on the board at that spot, he's the choice, especially if the Rangers take Olesz at #6. If the Rangers take Ladd or Thelen at #6, or if they are able to grab an additional #1 pick, then I could see Zajac as the choice.

Picard is clearly not a defensive forward. Picard is a offensive player only with a good shape able to play physival if needed. But I agree that he will maybe become a 2nd or 3rd line player but he must improve his defence.

For the mock it's a nice one....I would be surprise if Calagary don't selected Chippy if he's available.

The biggest problem is Florida with Schwarz ????

Here's the problem with that...almost all of our top forward prospects are 2nd/3rd liners. We definately dont need anymore of those, and with Green still on the board, Chipchura sure isnt the BPA.

In today's Edmonton Sun it said that both the Oilers and Rangers want Stafford and that he would go at #6. I find that hard to believe.

I think that might be Sather blowing smoke. I personally think the Rangers will take Ladd at #6. They scouted him heavily and like him a lot. And, he fits the profile of the type of player the Rangers are targetting these days.

Ladd and Stafford don't seem that dissimilar to me based on the scouting reports I've read. Personally I'd love to land either of them.

I don't necessarily disagree. I just have seen Ladd rated higher on most rankings.

Agreed. Ladd does seem higher by the consensus. Read an article today where the Blackhawks head scout seemed quite high on him and Barker. I've heard Columbus might be interested, same with the Rangers. Read another article today where Jim Rutherford of Carolina said he doesn't think Ladd will still be there at #8.

I think Ladd has moved up into the top 5 - I do not see him falling any lower than that.
