After this many seasons of expecting that from Kreider, it's time to stop dreaming and accept reality.

Yo wtf why was Buchnevich not given an assist on that Rooney goal? He pretty much created the whole thing, and passed it to Fox who setup Rooney.

Why? Why let the fact that Panarin is a great player stop you from applying critical thinking. Panarin and Blackwell were both -3 on the night. A big part in the Pens win was shutting down Panarin and not gifting odd man rushes.

Ola made some interesting points worth considering. Everyone knows that the Rangers look fantastic when allowed odd man rushes that lead to blowout scores, but when teams like Carolina, Boston, Pittsburgh even Buffalo etc play structured defense the Rangers struggle.

Sure, but if he did his contract would look far better.

If any of you have been fortunate enough to get a vaccine, you'll know well enough that the next day is just not fun at all (these guys got J&J, just like after getting #2 of Pfizer or Moderna). These guys are top athletes, their immune systems are probably amazing. The reaction to the vaccine was likely strong, so I'd expect a bunch of dudes to have been on their ass due to it on Wednesday and while you're over it, your body was doing a bunch of work. I'm sure there is fatigue in there as well. Quinn did mention some guys were up in the air to be in the lineup. Probably were feeling those symptoms up to the morning of the game.

Also, they did play against a team that was embarrassed the other night. They weren't going to just go away. It's not like throttling the Sabres and knowing the next night if you could go up 1-0, you're in their head. You've got too many experienced guys that have won before to have that lingering effect on the next game. This isn't Philly.

Yeah, they probably won't make the playoffs, and that was definitely a goal going into the season, but sometimes you do fall short. It's the toughest division to be in. We laugh about Philly (as I joked about them above), but they're a playoff team in another division. Go check the West and the teams in the North. Nashville was ready to blow their team up and went on a 12-2 run and are in a spot. the Rangers could do that and would still be on the outside looking in.

Regroup in the offseason, cut some more of the dead weight in the lower parts of the lineup, and let the kids develop. A full season in 2021-22 should be the beginning of the team being in the playoffs year after year. We're talking about a team that is the youngest in the league. Half the roster is either in year 1 or year 2 of their careers. Let's get them into a situation where they aren't playing the same 7 teams over and over again, when 5 of those 7 teams were playoff teams from the year before (Not even talking about the expanded group of teams either, they were all legit top 8 teams in the East and made up 3 out of the 4 teams to make the 2nd round).

They actually have more wins then I thought. But that’s mostly because of superior individual efforts like panarin, Fox, shesty, zibby in given nights. The PP is worse and the PK is better. I don’t think it’s bitching to call out the problems where they are. For the youngest team in the league, there are many problems with effort, skating, coaching, etc. I hope they get remedied in time. If you want to think everything is hunky dory with rose colored glasses on then by all means it’s your prerogative. But in conversations with others I’m going to call it like I see it. Snarky posts or comments have no affect on that. If you don’t think anything is wrong with this group, team, management, coaching etc why post in the conversation ?? The youngest team in the league should be flying around the ice every night. If the loss then the loss but they should at least make their mistakes at full speed.

I thought +/- has been accepted by everyone as a pure bullshit statistic. Blackwell's game alone should make that clear enough.

Also, I won't ever complain about a player unless I think I'm seeing a lack of effort from them. Bitching about the guy who's been carrying your team and who has played as well as any player I've ever seen in a Rangers jersey is odd to me. He can't carry them every single game.

However the Rangers look against the best teams, Panarin is never a part of the problem. If he doesn't excel in a game it doesn't mean I'll place blame on him. These games aren't played on a computer.

Panarin has played great in the playoffs. He led Columbus to a sweep over Tampa, the big favorite to take the Cup a couple years ago. The year before, he almost single-handedly pushed Columbus past Washington in a 7-game series where his play dwarfed Ovechkin and the rest of the Caps.

I don't think your statements are critical thinking.

They are hugely important. You generate offense or get scored upon a ton of times when the face off is won in the corresponding zone

One thing with Pitaburgh is when you get behind you have very little chance of getting any room out there and very little zone time as they are comfortable just flipping the puck back out to center ice and clogging up the neutral zone.

You just attributed a whole bunch of things to me that I never said. Extremely weak behavior, but I guess you had little choice when trying to put me in my place.

Please point out where I said everything is hunky dory with the Rangers. Where did I say nothing is wrong with the team?

Tell me where you thought the team would be before the season. If you said secure in a playoff spot, you'd be lying or in a very small minority.

The team is right where it should be in the process. They're adding talented youth that will most likely pay dividends in a year or two. They have some players that just aren't good enough to be on a Cup-winning team.

They are still weak at center and woefully weak on D. Those kinds of teams don't excel on a regular basis, whether it causes you to throw a tantrum or not.

You can hope that your players fly around, but they had better be very fast skaters, otherwise, it ain't gonna happen. This is a team with a lot of young talent, but they are not blessed with many speed demons. Kakko doesn't fly. Lafrenniere might not even be an average NHL skater, in regards to speed.

You have the right to call it like you see it.

    Guess what?

    So do I.

The bigs guns for both teams were vanilla at best. Pens kids and role players out worked and out hustled ours. That’s the game I watched. Goaltending was even til about 15 min in the 3rd. Shesty had no idea where the 2nd goal was. The zucker goal was soft. But he did make enough saves to make it a game if even the PP converted something.

You miss two open nets, you lose. I'm fairly certain Steve Valiquette could mine the data if he were so inclined. Personally, I don't need the proof. It seems obvious.

You started this nonsense by calling an assessment bitching like a petulant child. Then how dare anyone say panarin had an off game?? More then likely you were probably one of the people who didn’t want to sign him. That is just speculation though, not going back in posts. If you think this is the process and where right where we should be, all I can say is theres nothing more to discuss. Points wise yes, development wise hell no. Worst production from a 1 OA pick in years, which is not entirely his fault, our 2ova isn’t having a much better year statistically either. Stunted growth from many youth in favor of vet plugs. And our D which is very young and the bright spot of the organization, sporting a Norris candidate no less you think is a weakness. Like I said standings wise and development wise we have very different pictures of where we should be and how this team is coached. How do you beat a team 8-4 and 2 days later the same effort isn’t there in the middle of a playoff race? Like I said I would rather they lost both games and the team broke their asses and kids get the experience

this is why i wish so badly we played in the North. We'd run that division ragged. Nobody plays structured defense lol and I'll trade chances with any team

We do realize the Pens were missing two very important players right? That’s off the top of my head. And they still dominated us. Right from the start. Could have been 2-0 in the first 5 min if not for Shesty

yeah we played horribly from puck drop. They don't outman us but again, Sully is one of the best coaches and the Pens can play many different styles of game.

Rangers don't play winning hockey. When it works, it works really well and we can score 8 goals. The Rangers play one style, and if they can't get that east-west going, they're boned.

Totally agree I would bet that quite a few guys felt off yesterday and who knows probably today as well a bit.
Curious to why the Islanders as a team have not had the vaccine???

Bad game pretty much all around, but CMON GUYS HIT THE GODDAMNED NET WHEN NO GOALIE IS IN IT

CK 0-4 on PSs checks out too, just not his skill set. He really needs to add a fake shot slip the backhand 5-hole, to go with his goto deke of fake shot backhand around the goalie's pad. Everyone knows he's gonna shoot it or do his one trick. Need to get the goalie thinking a bit more to get success.
