They were never really up for sale per se if I remember. Mario mostly was going to get paid, but if I remember right Burkle never was going to give up his majority stake.

Likely they could not get the money they wanted with those restrictions. All of the cost none of the control is not the most appealing sale pitch in the world.

Quite honestly.. I don't think we could ask any more of our ownership. They made some questionable decisions for a few years sticking with guys who they shouldn't have, but they also overhauled them when needed. They spend up to max capacity to win. They don't budget cut. I think they are great owners. Glad to hear, even though as Jaded said - it wasn't going to happen.
