Nice Mario piece on Hockey Night in Canada but f***ing hell, don't his Daughters count! No wonder Women's hockey sucks so much when you have high profile people pushing their Sons but not Daughters

I'll give Sully a massive amount of credit there, that is exactly how I wanted to see Simon used and that's exactly how he's being used. That lineup also gives me a hunch that this isn't just a "winger to replace Kuhnhackl" callup, it's a legit promotion for Simon. He may get sent back down, but if he plays well, I honestly think he keeps that spot when everyone is healthy.

That would be amazing if the Penguins don't need to trade for another winger because Simon can fill that spot.

Eh, Sullivan's history says it’s likely he goes back down and could be back up permanently later if he does well enough.

Simon has never replicated his skill in WBS to the NHL. Hopefully tonight he turns into another gem.

He has also played in 5 games in the NHL, where he has 2 points. In those 5 games, he was also below 10 minutes of ice time in 4 of them. Oh yeah, both of his points were also primary assists.

Eh, Sullivan's history says it’s likely he goes back down and could be back up permanently later if he does well enough.

That's not really Sullivan's history. That was what he did with Guentzel, but that's not what he did with Rust or Sheary.

It should be an entertaining game. Hopefully just a bit more entertaining for Pens fans.:thumbu:

No, it’s what happened with Sheary and Rust had something like 20 games of nhl experience under his belt before Sullivan.

this is true. he had chances before but never really showed up. Hope this time will be different

He has played in 5 games in the NHL. Why are people saying "he has had chances"? He has 44 minutes total of time on ice in his career...

Simon has played in 5 games in his career and has averaged 8:52 TOI/game. How people are drawing conclusions that he hasn't showed up in the NHL is insane. He even has 2 points in those 5 games.

No, it’s what happened with Sheary and Rust had something like 20 games of nhl experience under his belt before Sullivan.

Sheary didn't play any games in the NHL before Sullivan came up. Rust did, but Sheary didn't. Sheary's first game was like Sullivan's second game as a coach with the Penguins.

Saw the entire Lemieux family at the Yellowstone Club once after the 2016 win. All of his daughters are quite stunning and Austin is the spittin image of his dad. Absolutely unmistakeable, lol.

Should be a tough test tonight. Jarry needs to be on his game and the boys need to give him some help.

Yeah? That’s what I meant. Sheary came into the nhl under Sullivan, was sent back to WBS and called up again later. He struggled after a hot start but it’s similar to Guentzel and maybe Wilson. And Murray but that involved injuries to Fleury.
