Thats great news on the Sprong signing, and he will still be restricted when his contract expires.

Nice. I was expecting a 1-year "Show me" deal for Sprong. A $750K cap hit will look very nice next season. And unlike most Pens fans on Twitter, I'm still very bullish on Simon.

2 years was what I expected all along for Sprong (although I figured it would be closer to 800k). It makes sense for Simon financially, but I could have seen that go either way.

That could be a real bargain next year if Sprong can put things together.

Expected for Simon, wasn’t sure what Sprong would get but I figured it’d only be 1 year so this is good. Certainly forces him to have to prove himself but is also movable/hideable if he bombs.

Indeed, i like the Simon deal too. Almost no risk involved here, incentives for the rookies.

Time to spring mr. Sprong, proove you belong with the big team.

Does this mean Sprong has to play in the NHL next year or if we send him down others can claim him? Not exactly sure what one way/2 way mean.

He has to play in the NHL this year regardless of contract. He's no longer exempt from waivers.

One way just means he get's the full amount of the contract whether it's NHL or AHL. If a player with a 2 way plays in the AHL, he only gets a fraction of the amount of the contract.

The 2nd year for Sprong is big. If he takes off, that could be some insanely valuable scoring depth for absolutely no money.
