Nothing more than an AHL trade. Won't play a single minute for Pittsburgh baring injuries. Serious injuries.

I’m guessing they think he’s better than what they could draft with that 6-7th rounder.

They'll keep it. He won't play in the NHL. Probably just Columbus wasn't planning on qualifying him anyway so they might as well trade him for a scratch-off.

Strange move. I guess it makes sense to make WBS a little deeper.

Why does CBJ do it? I guess they have given up on him and wanted to free up a contract slot before the deadline. They aren't getting a pick from this deal.

Maybe to make Prow an option to call up at some point?

Got to think Prow is already the first call up. Are the Baby Pens lacking dmen depth? He's actually younger than Dane Birks who we signed this summer so there's that.

I always get him confused with that guy who plays for the Caps from like Switzerland. Siegenthaler? Imagine those two on the same pairing. Good luck to the PbP announcers!

From the Pens point of view, sure, why not? He at least sounds like the type of D-men they should be targeting. He's still young enough to put it together and it's not like WBS is busting at the seems with quality defensemen prospects.

Don't understand how it benefits CBJ at all unless a roster spot is needed.
