No,you just can NEVER blame Buch. Its ALWAYS someone elses fault. He is secretly an elite player but being held back by everyone huh? It's comical at this point.

This is unbelievably disingenuous. And its not surprising from you, the guy who has been against Buchnevich since the team signed Vesey. You act like there's some competition between them, when there never has been.

Its not "always" someone else's fault. This team has had the same coach for years. Its one man's fault, a man who's probably going to be fired. No one claimed he's elite.

He's not a 4th liner/low end third liner though, which this coach has used him like since he entered the league. This is a fact. Its also a fact that his output from a statistical efficiency standpoint is that of a top 6 forward, maybe 1st line.

Ranks on the team since he entered the league. This includes players who are no longer on the team or were recently traded for, so its not just the players who've been on the team since last season started.

All situations:

P/60: 3
P1/60: 5
GS: 9
GS/60: 5
CF%: 3
Rel CF%: 3
GF%: 2
Rel GF%: 1
xG+/-: 4
xGF: 3
Rel xGF%: 2
TOI%: 16th (of 19)

ES:

P/60: 3
P1/60: 3
GS: 8th
GS/60: 6
CF%: 5
Rel CF%: 4
GF%: 5
Rel GF: 6
xG+-: 7
xGF%: 6
Rel xGF%: 5
TOI%: 18 (of 18)

Of the 22 stats listed, he's in the top 6 on the team, let alone just forwards, of 19 of them. The only three he's not in the top 6 are TOI dependent stats, and the per ice time stat for all of those, he's in the top 6. Unless none of this matters, he's unquestionably been a top 6 forward for the team since he entered the league, and unquestionably not been used as a top 6 forward by Vigneault since he entered the league.

You can quit the false arguments.

My biggest problem with Buchnevich is that I can think of like one goal all season where he didn't get as a result of an empty net tap in or some bad goal allowed by a goalie. Literally one. It was the beautiful goal he had against Boston. His shot either misses the net or offers no threat. It's extremely worrisome to me. Effort and strength can probably be fixed a lot more easily. Man, I had high hopes for him, I hope he still lives up to them.

Don't worry Mr Buchnevich, your son will play next season

Vesey outplayed him the last 2 months. Buch deserved to be on that on the 4th line. Maybe he will wake up next season and stop being lazy? Could be a great player if he tried..

It's literally just hilarious trying to argue anything about PB with a poster who has the user name: Pavel Buchnevich

I wasn't going to bring this fact up because I don't want to give the comparison between them that you've been driving any credence, but I might as well say it since you are trying to claim victory. Buchnevich has more points in those 24 games than Vesey did.

Corsi may not be the greatest stat ever but it shows something is not right when a third liner is on the ice for the fifth most attempts against

Vesey is an awful defensive forward where does this "complete game" you speak of come from

Jimmy Vesey (born May 26, 1993) is an American ice hockey left winger for the New York Rangers. He was selected by the Nashville Predators in the third round, 66th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Vesey won the Hobey Baker Award in 2016. On June 20, 2016 his rights were traded to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a third-round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.[2]

If you say it, it must be true.

You've made it very clear for two seasons now that this is just one big competition between the the tough NA and the soft Russian. You used straw man arguments and exaggerations. I felt the need to point that out, and also to point out the case that Buchnevich is a top 6 forward, and is played like a low end third line forward or high end fourth line forward.

I'll just leave it at that.

Both Buchnevich's game and Vesey's game could do with some more work. They've both underwhelmed--and if I'm being honest over these last two season's Vesey's underwhelmed more. Pavel also has a higher upside so he is the more valuable player. Right now he's a second line winger on a mediocre/kind of crappy team. Vesey's a third line winger on a mediocre/kind of crappy team. I can see either or both of them being moved next year if they don't start reaching more of their potential.

Bring on a new coaching staff. This is not to dog AV so much as to say both Buchnevich and Vesey need to be pushed harder IMO. AV relied on his vets too much--at least until he didn't have some of them anymore and IMO the team was too soft and too complacent--too full of what they did 4 years ago. If not a country club he was presiding over it was very close. The clip of Keefe the other day--he's looking for high intensity all the time from everyone--practices and games. You got to be fair but you got to push your players hard sometimes too. With a younger team we're going to need a coaching staff that engages with those players but also takes charge.

One of the laziest players we’ve had in a long time. Quietest point total I can remember. Skates like Brandon Pirri. Blaming AV for this guy’sperformance is crazy. If he weren’t Russian he’d have been sent to the minors a long time ago to figure out what it takes to earn your job.

Right now he’s basically a PP specialist. And with additional mins after the deadline he played even worse.

Has a lot to do this summer to figure it out.
