Lemme just add I happen to like rnh a lot more than like anyone else in this forum..so I get it. Ppl will hate that. But he's young...plays center...2 way game. Overpaid? Yes.

Getting lucic is a cap dump to get their unprotected first.

You're talking a top 10 pick for sure...if the rangers have 4 or 5 first rounders...can you package 2 or 3 of them to get into the top 3?

Win the lottery...trade 3 firsts for 2nd overall...draft dahlin and svech? Hehehe

We've gotten no update yet. These beat writers are so terrible. The transcripts of the interviews are always posted, so you can check the questions asked. I won't nitpick about the questions on most days, I don't need all the questions I would ask AV answered at every press conference. I realize there are differences of opinion on whats important to ask, but I would think that asking about your best forward who's injured and we haven't gotten an update on in some time is kind of an important thing to ask about. Then again these are the same beat writers who were fine with AV's decision to bench Buchnevich, so maybe they consider him the enigmatic PP specialist who isn't that good, and isn't worth asking about.

Who are skating now Kreider & Buch with no contact jersey?

Maybe the beat writers are losing interest since the team has been struggling of late @Pavel Buchnevich ? :)

Buch is having a good year consider all the commotion this season, and we need him back soon as possible when he is cleared, and I`m positive it won`t take too long, because Vesey is back from the same injury, but maybe Buch was hit harder. I never saw the hit on him.

Nash - Zib - Zucc is not a great line, but Zucc cashed in on Ehlers mistake and scored on it unassisted.

But when Kreider & Buch is back I would put them back together since it worked very well earlier this season before all the injury hit us hard.

You're giving up 2 valuable players, basically to get Edmonton's 1st round pick. RNH to me has little value to the Rangers. He has a 6 mil cap hit already and that contract will be up in 3 years, when he's 28. If we were expecting to contend in the next 3 years, he might make sense, but I don't want to be in a situation where we are either looking to move him or give him a contract that takes him into his mid 30s. He really isn't that good anyway. With Zib and Hayes, and Andersson and Chytil on the way, I don't see a reason to trade for RNH. If we are going to bring in another center, it needs to be a player an order of magnitude better than what we already have. RNH is not that.

his p/60 is almost identical to Millers this year...

I think an unprotected first in this draft could be gold. I mean, i get what youre saying, but heck, then lets add in Jesse Puljujarvi for funsies and make it work ;)

Which begs the question why we would trade Miller for RNH. If Nash and Grabner are traded (and possibly Zucc), we are going to be hurting on the wings. Miller has shown himself to be a better wing than center.

I'm sure Edmonton would like Miller for RNH. They need help on the wings and they have McDavid and Draisaitl at center. I'm not so sure they'd be willing to give up their unprotected first. I don't think they are going to make that kind of deal now, on the hopes that they make the playoffs. They are too far out at this point. Both teams would basically be rolling the dice, us hoping that their pick wins the lottery and them hoping it doesn't. I don't see either GM making a deal like that. Too much risk involved. After the lottery, maybe, but it would probably be a situation where if they are willing to trade the pick, it's because it isn't high enough to entice us to make the trade.

I would absolutely love to get a lottery pick and win the lottery, as I'm sure any Rangers fan would. But our best chance to do that is probably to miss the playoffs and hope we win the lottery with our own pick. We might get another lottery pick if we hold onto McD and trade him at the draft, but by that time we'll already know the pick isn't top 3.
