Yep. The good thing is that it's in his leg and not his lung, like Fleischmann. The diagnostics are so sensitive for clots nowadays, that sometimes they find little ones (eg, in the calf) that may not even require standard blood clot treatment (anti-coagulation). So, there is a chance Postma may make it back within a few weeks, but 3-6 months is more likely.Good thing they caught it.
Trauma and long haul flights can be contributing factors. Not sure if teams have specific protocols in place to reduce incidences of blood clots. Thomas Fleischmann had this a couple of years back and is okay now. See Freudian's mention above.
