Cant find any info but why was paul macleans look a like kicked out of the game last night? Or was he?

AFAIK, He wasn't kicked out of the building, he was kicked out of the seat. He didn't have tickets to be in the 100-level, apparently (or so the rumor goes).

He had to return to wherever his ticket said he should have been... most likely the 300-level.

Haha okay, thank u! Weird there just happened to be an empty seat there. And don't the ushers check tickets? especially for that area. He looked like a nice gentleman. Not causing any trouble. Perhaps a bit creepy but still.

Thanks

I saw him wandering around the 100 level concourse before the game and did a triple take. Big screen showed Ian Mendes talking to him at one point directly behind the bench.

I never heard anything about him being kicked out? Maybe he asked to swap seats for a period so he could get on tv?

As a former usher at SBP, I can say "yes and no".

We check, though not all the time. And if you're not being a nuisance and are generally pleasant (and not drinking 3x as muchas everyone else in the section), chances are the usher might be leniant and let you stay. Depends on the usher, to be honest.

Myself: I'd never kick anyone out of their seat after the 2nd period, even if they weren't supposed to be there, unless there was a particular reason to do so (intoxication, being a jackoff, etc...).

I'd also track my empty seats, and if by the end of the 2nd I had a block of 3 or more that were empty (not often), I'd check in with some usher friends in the 300's and see if a family with a young kid wanted to watch the 3rd in the 100 level.

So yeah: all ushers aren't d-bags. Sure, we have the power to kick you out, but we also have the power to let you stay. I can't tell you how many times I caught a guy seat hopping, and as I approached him I was leaning towards letting him stay, but as soon as I opened a conversation with him he'd start in with enough attitude to kill a small kitten. Swing-first-ask-later attitudes don't get you anywhere, I have no idea why some people think it's a good idea at all.

/usher rant.

As per Gordie Wilson, he wasn't kicked out, those were his company seats and he was escorted out because Ian Mendes wanted to interview him (which he tweeted about). After that, the Sens organization wanted him so they could photograph him and make a promo for "fan of the game".

Now that sounds logical. He and his friends certainly left without incident. Maybe your right. Pretty funny none the less.

Or perhaps the real maclean? Was spooked and requested this?

He must have been asked post game for sure.

Ah, ok then.

My mistake. I was going with one of the two rumors, clearly the wrong one, haha.

The last part scares me...my concern with anything that starts organically at Sens games is that once the Sens marketing team gets a hold of it, they hammer it into the ground...

Case in point, lip-syncing guy. The first time he did it, it wasn't planned and it was hilarious. Then, he became a "regular" and the joke was beaten into submission.

I'm just hoping the Sens marketing doesn't start trotting this guy out to every game and start using him as a promo tool. Let the memories of last night's moment remain untouched I say...

Sorry to burst your bubble, an I hope I'm not spoiling anything too big, but it was planned. Guy was hired to do a bit through a promo agency, it got popular, so they kept bringing him back.

Ah. First time seemed spontaneous. Point still holds though...the bit was over-used until it became annoying. Glad they didn't have it there last night.

Some are cool. There was one that I wanted to bang but I can't remember her name.

I got followed by the beer police once. I had just bought a beer at intermission and returned to my seat, and one of the people I was with gave me the "where is mine?" signal, so I went back to get her one. I don't know why I did this, but instead of leaving the beer I had just bought there, I took it with me. I decide to buy 2 more, but as I already have 1 I know they are going to give me a hard time, so I put it down on the cart ( I was like 3rd in line) and when I got up to the front I ordered my 2 and on my way I picked up #3 and you'd think I just robbed a bank or something.

I hear this "sir, SIR" and I ignore it because I know what is going to happen next. I notice that a suit is following me, but I just keep walking back to my seat. I get to my section and the game is on so I have to wait. Suit catches up with me, the usher sees the suit, then sees that I have 3 beers and she starts giving me ****.

So I explain to the suit that the beer guy had only sold me two, that he didn't do anything wrong and that I was bringing a round for my friends.

The suit "verified" that I was giving a beer to someone else and then split.

What a silly law. In Sydney I went to a Rugby League game and their limit is 4 beers per purchase.

Ontario sucks.

Not related to the OP but I found Bonk's reply so veteran-esque.

Sounds like a typical inside look to anyone who has worked their job for any length of time. I work at a large financial institution so if someone were to ask me "are all IT systems that manage money secure and in compliance with governmental regulations like they should be?" and my answer would be the same - "yes and no". Typically my answer to any question is "it depends".

Ugh, I hated enforcing the 2-beer rule. Sucks that AGCO has such a stranglehold on liquor at the arena.

Usually, instead of busting a dude's chops for holding three beers, I'd just offer to carry one of them to his seat for him. Unless he was already drunk off his gourd, that is.

I probably let a lot more go than some of the "old guard" ushers did.

Quebec has significantly different liquor laws than Ontario does.

They also have enough of a mass-transportation system to get all the drunks out of the building. Too drunk? Just take the subway home.

Ummm. All I can say is that I intern for Sens TV and there was nothing said pre game about this Paul Maclean Look a like. All the people who were running things seemed genuinely surprised by him as well. Also saw him after the game and he is like 5 foot tall with a big head lol.
