Paul, it was felt, needed a year to play with bigger, stronger players and he has done very well in Texas and ECHL. He was one of 3 wildcatters named to the ECHL All-Star game where he had 2 assists and a +4. He has scored 12 goals and added 31 assists for 43 points. Last week he was named to the ECHL All Rookie team and just the other day finished 2nd in voting by coaches for the Rookie of the Year. Many people dismiss Paul as not being a top notched defenseman but in his hockey career he has - played with Brayen Coburn for World under 17(Philadelphia)
- played with Andre Mesaroz (Ottawa)
- played with Cody Franson (Nashville)
- chosen top defense pairing with Dion Phaneuf in Bantam Westerns.
When shown confidence and allowed to play his game Paul can be a top 4 d-man for the Wild in 2-3 years.
