Why? 6th-7th guy who doesn't exactly do much of anything well.

Yzerman wasn't joking when he said it will take time. Both of these signings so far are so boring....

Ericsson 2.0 with a "nice raise".

Maybe this is supposed to be for the Oilers and the insiders forgot Holland wasn't the Red Wings GM anymore?

So right now we have the following...
Green
DDK
Daley
Big E
Hronek
Kaski
Bowey
Nemeth

Who sits/plays in GR?
I'm guessing this indicates something about how much they expect Ericsson/Green/Daley to be healthy and playing this season. And the likelihood of Kronwall coming back.

I'm fine with the signing. Hopefully one of a couple scenarios happen..Green goes on LTIR, one of the vets (Daley, Ericsson) are being traded or Kronwall is retiring.

If this means Kronwall is done, than I am more happy with it.

Does this mean Kronner isn't coming back? Don't we already have enough d men?

Considering how banged up the D was last year, I could see them carrying 8:

Green
DeKeyser
Hronek
Daley
Ericsson
Nemeth
Bowey
Kronwall (if he returns) - Cholowski/Kaski/Hicketts (if he Kronwall doesn't return)

I'm assuming the plan was to sign a D for two years to give them depth when Daley, Ericsson, Green and Kronwall (if he returns) could all leave next summer.

The door is likely still open for Kronwall as planned.
