He is younger, the better goal scorer and has a track record of more consistency.

What's the back story here? Seems odd that you'd skew the results by adding only to Fiala.

Laine has more potential and will most likely go down as the better player, but right now, today, Fiala is better, and has been for a couple seasons.

Situations being what they are now Fiala is better right now. Laine has dealt with a bit of chaos so that couldn't have helped while Fiala was slow to mature and had pretty much no trust placed in him until a couple years ago.

Even if you take laine as the better / more talented player, I feel like it's hard to support that he's been better over the last three years.

Fiala is averaging .91 ppg over the last three years while Laine has averaged .84 PPG despite getting a full two minutes more per game. You'd really have to dig into the non point production part of their games.
