I agree, I support the idea of Laine playing on the left side. I was referring to why a coach would care about a player being on his strong side in the defensive zone, which is something I don't find all that important with top players.

Matthews has sniped the puck like 2 or 3 times this season. He has a good shot. But almost all of Laine's goals come from far away, i don't think they should be compared. Laine has the better shot.

When it comes down to making comparisons which of these two great rookies is better, it comes down to debate and preferences. But talking about shooting it's not even debatable. The whole article is just to pump Matthews' tires.

There's many things/facts wrong with that article. Apparently Matthews kills penalties (00:29 SH TOI) and Shea Weber still plays for the Predators. They even try to spin Auston's faceoff win% in a positive way ...is eighth with a 45.3 faceoff win percentage among players with at least 80 faceoffs taken. And when he says 'among players', he means 'among rookies'.

That article btw was obvious Matthews tire pumping. They just brought up stats that mostly favor Matthews and left out several ones that would have favored Laine. Not to even mention obvious false information.

What bothers me so much is that great players like Lai e and Matthews dont need no tire pumping. Their play talks loud and clearly.

And yeah the faceoff argument there was sarcastic maybe it is the one area that is a obvious weakness right now and he will improve that in no time.
