Very convenient timing too. Seems like he must have been playing with it bothering him for a bit considering he's been listed as D2D and missing practices. Gets the surgery now and can just rest up for the playoffs hopefully.

I'm gonna bet money it is his hamate bone. It feels more like a sore wrist until diagnosed. Doctors just remove the bone. If this is the case he may only be out 4-6 weeks. Just makes sense why it would go from day to day to surgery.

Yes. A relative of mine had the same surgery (baseball player). Given his wrist shot, it is a likely injury to that small bone in his wrist.
