Okay, so we have some moderate news.

Due to a stat correction applied on Saturday, the final matchup was officially tied, with the tiebreaker making GoodFellas the official champion for 2019. Congratulations, Hox!

Because of the ridiculousness of this situation, Wheeling Dusters will not be expected to relinquish their extra keeper. Both teams will be afforded the rights of champion, but the records will officially change to reflect the GoodFellas as the winner. We are extremely annoyed at this situation, and will not allow it to happen again.

I am excited about this, but at the same time it’s really unfortunate how this came to be. The Dusters have an incredible team and if anything I hope this will always reflect the epic final we had.

It has also come up lately that we may want to ponder changing prospect status lengths for defencemen and possibly goalies. If we're going to do it, we should change it prior to May 1st and apply it to all new prospects. That way we're clear on the value of prospects before we pick them.

So with defencemen typically taking longer to become impact players at the NHL level, we are considering extending their status to 150 games. A lot of us are currently feeling like defencemen aren't worth picking most of the time in the prospect draft, and that seems like a shame.

A poll has been added to gather input.
