If we go ahead by two
Would you promise not to shoot
And help this big lead stand
Cause I’ve used the shell before
And I found the shell was more
Than just annoying fans

If I give ice time to you
I must be sure from the very start that you
Protect our lead like him

If I trust in you, oh please
No, not Sanheim
If I love you too, oh please
Don’t take chances like him
Cause I couldn’t stand the skill
And I would be sad if our safe game was for nill

So I hope you see that I
Would love to play you
And the fans will cry
When they see 22
If we go ahead by two

Weise will be back on the 4th line sooner than later, he was just a "jump start" move every HC makes when a team struggles, move some people around, get players out of their comfort zone, give some players a wake up call.

Problem will still be 3C and 4C, Weal has great metrics but somehow can't close the deal and is a liability defensively, Laughton at 3C leaves a hole at 4C.
This is the one area where I could see Fletcher make a move in the short-term, if a veteran 3C is available at low cost, it's worth it.
What worries me is the "win now" mentality that could ship say Kase and a 2nd for a meh 34 year old center who's hardly an upgrade over Weal.

I think that Patrick will be the highest draft pick we receive for the near future, maybe even 6-7 years out. The higher ups DO NOT have the patience to do a full rebuild, they want this team to make the playoffs so the building isn't empty past April.

10. Could Philadelphia’s GM change affect Wayne Simmonds’s future? According to several sources, Hextall thought very highly of the powerful winger, but was unwilling to commit term to the 30-year-old. There are differing opinions on whether or not Simmonds was being shopped. Some said yes; others said Hextall preferred to wait and see if the Flyers stayed in the race. Now we’ll find out what Chuck Fletcher thinks.

11. The Flyers really wanted Fletcher. He met with Paul Holmgren and Comcast Spectacor CEO Dave Scott in-person, while at least one and possibly two other candidates were interviewed via video conferencing. There are a lot of things that will be interesting about Fletcher’s first 100 days. In initial comments to local reporters, he preached patience. But word at the Board of Governors’ meetings was some of the people who hired him aren’t that patient.

12. One scout said Hextall left behind a couple of late-rounders with potential: Ohio State’s Tanner Laczynski (169th in 2016) and Virden, Man.’s Wyatt Kalynuk (196th in 2017), who plays at Wisconsin. “No guarantees, but they’ve got a chance,” he said.

31 Thoughts.
