Panthers Make Brent Seabrook Available

Florida has decided to listen to offers on defenseman Brent Seabrook.

Can be extremely flexible on the return, but looking for a couple things in return. Another rostered defender who can at least be serviceable this year (maybe a decent 3/4/5 guy). Also, younger players, prospects, draft picks. A package like that could pry Seabrook from me. Especially one involving a top quality center would do so.

Seabrook is signed for another year after this at $6.875 mil. He is a 78OV (one of the highest OV defenders in the SIM). He's a 73PA, 81DF, 79CK. And he's having another solid statistical season in the NHL.

It was announced today that the Panthers have dealt defender Brent Seabrook to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Jasper Bratt, veteran defender Mark Streit, SJ's 1st round pick in 2019, and Columbus' 4th round pick in 2018.

The move gives Florida some solid young pieces to build around and to aid in a likely rebuild.
