Hoffman - Brassard - Stone - the line that needs to carry the scoring
Dzingel - Turris - Ryan - solid two-way line
Smith - Pageau - Burrows - shut-down line against Crosby's and Ovie's of the world
Stalberg - Pyatt - Wingels - 4th liners who could play 10 minutes per night
Extras: Kelly, Neil, DiDomenico
Lazar traded for picks

I'd be pleased with that lineup for the playoffs.

Burrows top line to justify the trade...

I'm quite sure that the majority of people in Ottawa have no clue who Dahlen is with the exception of those who follow the team on HF & boards like this which is IMO a minority of fans of the team.

On the other hand, more people who are NHL hockey fans would know who Burrows is & would know that he has been a decent NHL player. My guess is that most would be okay with this deal given that they know nothing about the prospect that was traded. The prospects that get the most ink in Ottawa are obviously the 1st rounders & much less for the others, so most people could care less & Dorion kept Chabot, White & Brown.

When Ryan returns I'd like to see Pyatt drop down and Ryan take that spot. Play against lower end competition and if he can't find the passion to play hard on a 3rd line on a playoff team then I don't mind letting him go. Perfect situation for him.

OMG I remember when Jarkko Ruutu played a few games with Heatley and Spezza when Hartsburg was coach...... For me thats when I lost all hope in the team and knew it needed to be blown up

I don't mind this. Give Burrows a chance to see if he's still got enough in the tank to be a complimentary top 6 guy. He hasn't played with any skilled players since Torts was in Vancouver, so getting the chance might inspire him somehow.

If it doesnt work out then slot him down on the 3rd or 4th, where he probably belongs. It's a no lose situation to at least try it out imo.

If and when everyone is healthy:

Smith - Turris - Hoffman
Dzingle - Brass - Stone
Burrows - Pageau - Ryan
Stalberg - Kelly - Pyatt
(Wingels, Neil)

Methot - Karlsson
Phaneuf - Ceci
Boro - Wideman
(Claesson, J.J.)

Andy/Condon

Good depth now....

Good depth but I don't see those lines happening especially separating Smith & Stone. Also Burrows & Ryan on the same line might be a tad too slow, Ryan & Dzingel have played a lot together this yr & have shown some chemistry.

Hoffman - Turris - Burrows
Smith - Brassard - Stone
Dzingel - Pageau - Ryan
Stalberg - Wingels - Pyatt
Kelly/Neil

I'd rather Claesson in for Boro but with 74 getting like 8 hits a game it's probably unlikely. I doubt they go to 11F/7D either with Stalberg and Burrows in.

His actions show that he does care. Look at him desperately spin every move he makes to the media.

Look at the speed of that 3rd line

Until Ryan is back, play Burrows on that line. He did score 193 goals in the NHL so he knows how to do it.

I wouldn't be opposed to 18-44-24. That could be a great line to send out against teams with slower D corps.
