Smith hurt confirmed.

Who ever could have seen an injury riddled season for the leagues oldest goaltender coming? Oh right.. everyone.

Smith is done. Had a feeling too. He'll be retired by the end of the year if not sooner. At least this will force Holland's hand to make a trade for another goalie.

I feel like this would have been a perfect day for a outdoor game

Lots of history between the two teams and plenty of names to throw around

Damn COVID

And here are our 3 goalies from the 2021 half of this season:

The only one with an NHL save percentage (.916) is in the minors. Smith and Koski sitting right around .900.

Good news though Smith is a battler and he's very fit and Kenny was smart and signed him for 2 years. So he should be 100 percent for training camp in September for his big comeback! Smith and Skinner for the cup next season.

Hey… let’s play a 40 yr old goalie in back to back games after just coming back from months on the IR… sounds like a great idea Tip
In fairness... I'm sure if the NHL had an option to send guys on a conditioning stint to the AHL then we would've done that... oh wait.

Before Smith's return I wrote that my guess is he'll play 8 games before he's injured again. I was obviously way too optimistic.

Get well soon Smith!

Maybe it might be good for Smith to do a conditioning Stint in the AHL before getting into intense NHL action so soon next time.
I don't doubt his fight but sounds like an injury that needs to be eased in slowly, back into action.
If it's different injury, might as well wait until he's closer to 100%.
We might get him back around playoffs...hopefully.
