Pageau "lights out" in Bingo

I wish Luke would try him on the wing (for our benefit ). I see him as a top 6 player and I don't see where he'd get that chance with Spez and Turris ahead of him. But...Ottawa clearly needs a winger for Spez.

he's playing Center in bingo. It's not really out of position his hockey sense is sky high he can easily handle playing either wing or center. Send down/Waive gryba call up Pageau put him with Spezza and Conacher/Zibby and see that line actually generate offense.

or send down grant and put smith at 4c and zibby at 3c and run 4 lines.

Pageau had success here when he was called up last year because with all of the injuries he was able to play a reasonable (but not overly high) amount of minutes sometimes with decent linemates. His hockey sense is exceptional, but after the first few games this season I started to wonder whether he is the type of play who can generate points and chances on his own regardless of who he is playing with. This is not a knock against him, but if this is the case it may be better to wait for an injury where he is able to play on the 2nd or 3rd line rather than being stuck on the 4th.

Spezza is the best center on this team and the team benefits more when he is taking it to other teams. It changes the whole way teams play against us. He needs forwards to play with that can match his skill. Like some have argued that certain players haven't been given enough time neither has Spezza. He missed all of last season and has some issues to work on but he is still one of the best centers in the league.

I think the problem is a lot of guys on the team don't really move their feet very well. To play with a creative guy like Spezza, you always have to look for ways to get yourself open and to be ready to receive a pass at any time.

Seems most of the time the wingers are standing stationary making it easy for defenders to cut off any lane for a pass.

He has been one of the worst centers in the league defensively this year. Stop blaming the wingers. Spezza HAS to be better.
