Thought they would do it at the end of the season but I'll take it. Wouldn't make sense keeping him around d when you know he was going to get fired anyway.

Huge Packer backer. Grew up there. Not surprised he was fired. A little surprised he was fired midseason - that's not the Packers' way. That being said, if Philbin gets the permanent job, it'll be the first time I email an organization to relay my disgust lol

Not a Packers fan at all, but good god it feels good to hear he's been fired. No ill will towards the man but goddamn he overstayed his welcome.

Who would be good, imaginative offensive coaches that could come in and run a team that is taking advantage of Rodgers talents?

I'm so happy MM is gone. Hes stale.

This is James Franklin, Mean Gene? I’m not big on college football. This is an extremely interesting coaching vacancy to me though, with some of the offensive pieces Green Bay has, and 12 running it. Pettine I think has been good for them on D, Jaire Alexander is a massive stud, and if they do what the Rams did with a fisher to mcvey like update, look out.

Already preparing for Ron Zook to be the next head coach.

Yeah he was the Packers receivers coach. Now the HC at Penn State.

What is he like as a coach? Is this a good thing for them if they do or is this just a familiar face taking over if they hypothetically did?

He's a CEO type coach but his background is offense. I don't expect him to be hired but when NFL teams do look at NCAA coaches it's either guys that run a pro style program (Brian Kelly) or have previous NFL coaching experience.
