He was on a hot streak for the first 30 games of the season but the guy has only scored 1 goal in the past 22 games and none in the past 18. He's come back down to earth and he's showing his true colors.... which is why the Oilers want to get rid of him.

Some guys are streaky and he hasn't been given as much of an opportunity on the top line of late. He's clearly in a down stretch right now but the effort is still there and the goals will come (albeit not at the same rate as earlier in the season).

Well he ain't gonna get the opportunity on Calgary's 1st line either. If he plays at all it would be on Calgary's 4th line where he can expect to get under 10 minutes a game. On that line you'd never see a goal out of him for the rest of the season.
Frankly he's just not that good and playing with McJesus REALLY inflated his numbers. Right now he's playing like he normally has for most of his career... which is why for the past two years he's been a PTO scrambling for a job in the NHL and hoping some team was desperate enough to sign him.

Nowhere did I say that the Flames would be a great fit. What I'm saying is that for a team that's in a playoff race and/or a team that wants to go on a deep run that could use some added depth he'd be a good fit. He has a shot that can beat goalies clean and he's good around the net as well. He's got 7 points in his last 21 games, so while he only has a goal in that time he has still been scoring at a 3rd line rate. Any team that acquires him specifically for the top 6 will be disappointed unless he goes on another tear. Any team that wants a versatile player that is a good fit on the 3rd line or a deep 4th line would be interested IMO.
