Only got two of the new skins during the event (Talon Doomfist and "I need to speak to your manager" Sombra)

Definitely my worst haul of any event so far, but I pretty much only played to get arcade boxes

Brigette is out and to say people are displeased with her is an understatement. Check out the win rates

PC win rates:
  • Bronze: 85%
  • Silver: 77%
  • Gold: 65%
  • Platinum: 66%
  • Diamond: 64%
  • Master: 76% (!!!)
  • GM/T500: 68%
  • ----------------------
  • Xbox one: 64%
  • PS4: 60%
Console is a bit skewered since smurfing is a major issue and the player bases are a bit smaller.

That's a 69% average win rate across the board (on PC). Second highest is Symmetra at roughly 59%. Though obviously with her she becomes more of a situation/strong pick on certain maps at higher levels, thus allowing her win rate to shoot up because she's mostly picked in those situations. Even if it's early that type of statistical anomoly is probably a sign something's wrong.

Brigette averages on fire time at about 30% across all levels. second highest is Reaper at 17%. Again, big gap means big problem.

#balanced.

It's still early and people haven't figured out how to counter her properly. I wouldn't become concerned until much more time has passed. Rushing to make balance changes typically isn't the solution.

Personally, I think she really messes with the known metas from previous seasons and is going to force people to re-think the way the game is approached. I'm genuinely interested in running 3 supports and seeing how it works.

these Anna changes are going to be great. She's probably my favourite healer to play aside from Lucio, and this might give Anna the edge.

What's the Ana rework gonna be?
Still not happy with the Symmetra changes

She's getting more ammo per clip, 10 to 14. Also, her healing will go through fully healed allies so tanks won't block her from healing anyone that is in front of them if they're at 100% health.

I've had this since I got my PS4 last year and keep feeling like I should actually play it. What should I know?

It's like if Team Fortress 2 (class-based objective driven FPS) had a baby with DOTA 2 (different roles, abilities, and ultimate abilities). Teams will generally only be successful with the right balance in roles (2 healers, 2 tanks, 2 dps).

I would just play around with the heroes in unranked games, pick a few that you really enjoy to play (at least one healer, one tank, and one DPS is ideal) and then start to master them. It's also good to learn which heroes counter each other, so you can change on the fly to address weaknesses.

Good beginner characters

DPS:
Soldier 76 (typical FPS shooter)
Pharah (rockets and jet packs)
Torbjorn (builds turrets)
Junkrat (grenades and traps)
Reaper (flanker with shotguns)

Tank:
DVA (mobile shooter that can absorb damage)
Orisa (big shield and machine gun with huge clip)

Healer:
Mercy (easy to use lock on beam healing)
Moira (can heal and damage at the same time very well)
Lucio (aura healing)

Yeah, these are good recommendations. I learned Brigette very quickly too, who is like Moira (heals and does damage easily).
I learned Junkrat first with Mercy and Lucio, then Roadhog/Orisa/Pharah/Brigette.

Anyone still play this game? shocked its been over 5 months since the last post

I never really stopped playing, but my friends and I have gotten back into playing together all the time so I am probably playing it more now than I have ever

I feel like I have found new life in the game just by playing all the characters I don't usually play and trying to pick up new ones for competitive

I play casually every now and then. Only ever really use Bastion. Mercy is my team is crying for a healer.

I don't have much free time to dedicate to videogames anymore, so this is my go to. Have found some good groups to play with, so when I do I play competitive with them. This season I've been all about Moira, Hammond, McCree and Anna. The new Reaper buffs are just silly...I still suck with him though (his shadowstep ability is garbage).

I still really love the game, but feel it needs a huge content update (something like 2 new tanks and 2 new healers, and more maps/game modes), so the rumoured expansion will be welcomed.

I play it every now and then, mainly just for the events - having the Holidays and then Chinese New Year in close proximity has lead me to play more often lately.
My mains are still Ana, Brigette, Lucio, Pharah, and Orisa.

I really wish I was a better Reinhardt, but the recent armour changes mean him, Orisa and even Zarya are slightly weaker picks. I've really improved my Roadhog game lately which is nice. My DVa remains unf***withable.
